I just finished the second world and wanted to share my thoughts about the hack.
What an experience. This is a return to my childhood. As someone who barely play romhacks, it is a delight to discover every bit of a hack.
I was curious why you didn't provided more screenshots of the hack and I'm glad you took this decision. As soon as the first level started I was amazed. The fact
you took various backgrounds/musics from various video game universes (especially for the first world since I grew with this particular universe in my childhood)
brings a new perspective on the traditional level design.
I also had to say that
integrating elements from SMW (slopes as well as various SMW sprites) into a pure SMB level design
is, without any doubt, a tour de force. I had to see it in action to believe it can work, and you clearly succeeded. Well done.
I had some difficulties with the physics at the start, but I find them now pretty fun to master and the hack would be very trivial without them. My only complaint would be the time limit being a bit too strict (I don't really remember if it was easy to get a TIME OUT in the original game), but this is not a big deal considering the levels are pretty short (at least now, I still have to beat the rest of the hack lol).
Thank you so much for creating this terrible experiment.
