Your level should either include an infinite lives patch or a life farm accessible from the start.

With hex edits, of course! Here is an easy way to get infinite lives (or at least, without decrementing the lives count).

That simply means you can quickly and easily get 1ups. An easy way is to have a level full of 3up moons, placed with Direct Map16 objects or an easy way to get the 1up chain from jumping on top of enemies (e.g. you place a shell in a single tile gap filled with water and the place can jump into the shell repeatedly to get 1ups).
Very possibly I will participate here, I have great ideas... By the way can I use patches, blocks and custom sprites? I know it's a silly question, but I want to get rid of the doubt that if there is something I can't use...

Wow, the prizes for this contest really are high-stakes! I didn't expect them to be on the same level as the previous WLDC, but it's a nice touch upon bringing it back after so long.
With my recent catalogue of snowy and icy levels, I thought I would've been too burned out to make something new, though my brain seems to say otherwise. There technically are many, many ways to go about the winter theme when building levels. Good luck to the participants and judges, as per usual! I see that JupiHornet has risen up the ranks to be a judge as well, so congrats to you!
Are we allowed to use sub-levels and bosses?
Also, for infinite lives patch, it is said that it changes these values [80 03 EA] to [EA EA EA], and here's the code that I created, but I didn't apply it to the rom yet:
