Sixth Annual Vanilla Level Design Contest - Compilation Hack (Final Testing!)

I started working on this some time ago and after an extensive period of inactivity, a complete compilation of VLDC6 is now (hopefully) right around the corner!

You can arrange the levels on the overworld as you see fit, although I would like you to create a best world containing the following entries:

well I did get a chance to play this VLDC6 game and the only level so far that does seem to save is the Lava Mansion level but only going thru that level's keyhole exit (which seems to make Mario move upwards in the overworld map) and not going to the normal exit goalpost.
I actually like to claim the Red Switch Palace despite me not having a entry for VLDC6 seen i didn't joined SMWC until 2016.

Unfortunately, I was decided my overworld list but i don't want to claim this because i am busy.  Stivi We please claim this entirely VLDC overworld with better design like VLDC11.

The pipe problem seemed to be a result of camera scrolling settings; I have since fixed the issue. As for the glitched tiles, that is a problem I don't know how to fix. I asked about it in my original post.

From what I have been able to gather, the way I arranged the levels on the overworld has led to the problem with saving. Having all of the levels arranged on an actual overworld will probably solve this issue.

Feel free to make submaps and/or a main overworld if you want to. Dispace's main overworld in its current state is a bit flat and too plain for my liking. If Dispace doesn't want to, you can take over overworld creation (or work on part of it).

Alright. Beyond what has been said here and here, do you have other instructions?? As in, what submap themes to use and where to put each level?
No, I don't really have any other instructions. If you wanted a format to go off of, you could use the plan Dispace came up with. You can also refer to the document included in the demo folder that provides themes for each of the levels.
Must the blue switch palace follow a similar format to the SMW style?
I'd like it to follow the SMW style, so yes. I don't want the switch palaces to feel like actual levels. Let me know if you would like to claim the Blue Switch Palace.
I guess I can claim it, although I'm not sure where to start with this. Yes, I was part in the SMWCP2 team. I did the GFX there.

Here's my feedback from the playtest I did:

In Rocky Land's second area (level 85) the BG gets misaligned after you enter the door.

In Fierce Fire Flow, the warp pipe is leading to Mountaintop Bridges, I have no idea what the correct warp is supposed to be so I can't fix.

Burst Man's Level is called Burst Man's Entry in the overworld.

Mirann changed the nickname to Ringo, they said it's up to you if you want to change.

Here is my proposal for the level selection:



Now, I did have issues while making the list. I don't know if some of my choices in the Ice World were the best (TERRIBLE WHITENESS and Ghost Tower only have some ice sections) but there aren't any other levels that would fit the map (I'm trying to get at least 7 levels in each submap).

I considered merging the Ice and Sky worlds into one (some former sky levels would go to the main map) and adding a Cave or Castle/Industrial world to fill the submap but that would also have drawbacks:
For the cave map, there aren't many cave levels left and I would have to pull some levels from the Fire World and/or fill with ghost houses and castles.
A castle/industrial map would be easier to select levels, but there would be almost no castles or ghost houses for the other maps, and I enjoy having the building levels more scattered than concentrated into one place.

I'm open for suggestions, and I'll try to have something to show soon.

As for the world list, it looks pretty good. The selections make sense and the worlds are both varied and balanced. I think having TERRIBLE WHITENESS and Ghost Tower in the Ice submap is perfectly reasonable; they have some ice sections and are in buildings (which, as I see it, allows for some more leniency in strictly following an ice theme). The way you have arranged the levels currently is done well, and I don't think much needs to be changed. Let me know if you have any questions.
