Discussion Following The Game Awards 2022

Seeing as there's no thread that I can see regarding discussion of the Game Awards, felt like making one myself! If people are interested in sharing thoughts on the event. Likes and dislikes, notable moments, etc.

For me, I more or less got what I expected. A lot of God of War Ragnarok wins was something I saw coming (I seriously think they should limit the amount of times one game can be in categories to be like 3) and I figured the GotY was either gonna be Elden Ring or GoW. I got a number of other predictions right although I felt like Among Us VR was totally robbed by a game I literally had never heard of with Moss: Book II but hey I'll accept it as I have seen the game praised while researching what the game even was.

Of course there was a certain... INCIDENT once Elden Ring won Game of the Year. Wow... Yeah that just broke my twitter timeline for a good hour or so. It seems that people have somewhat settled down on it but man that's just sitting in the back of my mind. Oh also, I bet Death Stranding 2 is gonna be another awful confusing mess that a lot of people are gonna dislike and I'm gonna love it like the Kojima freak that I am... and that Crash MP game looks really interesting!
Imagining a world without Asar... no way.
In my opinion, it was great! Although, I'm really sad how Sonic Frontiers didn't win. I still enjoyed watching it!
I would like to dedicate this thread to my unorthodox rebel bill clinton, good night everybody.

I think Elden ring deserved to win, god of war is probably an amazing game, but when elden ring came out, it was basically a freakin' phenomenon. Everyone and their mother was playing it.
I'm glad that Splatoon 3 won the award for Best Multiplayer Game, knocking Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 out cold! I bet people say that cephalopods are more genius than actual humans... and zombies.

Also, Genshin Impact won the award for Players' Voice, despite the fact that the community has been going strong these days (Genshin was nominated for Best Mobile Game, Best Ongoing Game, and Best Role Playing Game for past years.), not to mention if Sonic Frontiers or Stray (Meong!) will get the wind of Genshin's overwhelming popularity.

And, oh, Kirby and the Forgotten Land won the Best Family Game category. 'Nuff said.
