Insert Photos In Hack Pages?

Hello, this might be the dumbest question I've ever had on this website...

I'm releasing a new hack soon and am wondering how to properly insert demo photos. Whenever I compress photos to the required size, they become fuzzy, which has been the case in all of my previous hacks, like Super Mario Universe.

Can somebody tell me the "proper" way of inserting photos?

I assume you're taking screenshots that aren't in the game's native resolution using an extrenal program and resizing them to make them smaller, instead of using the emulator's screenshot function?
