Don't darken the screen in File Erase Menu

How could I make the Erase File Select menu part of the title screen not darken the screen? I made a hex edit [don't exist anymore] that disables the change of the back area color at this point, but I don't know if that's what I want.

This is what I did to remove the darkening on the title screen menu:
