Toad's World 2 Screenshots (All Levels done)

Super Mario WorldStandardWork in ProgressScreenshots

Hey everyone.
I have finally finished all levels for Toad's World 2.
All that is left is some bug fixing, eventually translation fixes and a second round of beta testing.
After that the hack should get a release, but sadly not during this C3. :(

Toad's World 2 is a sequel of Toad's World.
However, this hack is way harder than the first one and features a lot of things like 3 languages in one hack (English, German, Spanish) and also different physics and more! ;)

Either way, have some screenshots so you can expect what to await.
Enjoy!

Intro & Title Screen:

World 1 (Grass):

World 2 (Beach):

World 3 (Desert):

World 4 (Cave):

World 5 (Spooky Forest):

World 5 to 6 (Valley):

World 6 (Snow):

World 7 (Sky):

World 8 (Mountain):

World 9 (Lava):

World 10 (Space):

Very nice screenshots you have, Ice Man. Can't wait for the full version.

It's new for me for a hack to have support for three different languages in one ROM, and the graphics are also very impressive, like those of New Super Mario Bros. (DS).

Incredible work! #smrpg{y}
Wow the graphics look really stunning. Interesting that you changed the physics and added some new features.

It's nice to see more NSMB types of hacks like this, I did remember the first one, and seeing you gradually working on this, it's coming along very nicely #smrpg{y}

You are challenged by Champion Daisy!

LAYOUT FOOTER:
1. Realistic Overworld Maps like NSMB style but looking is not bad
2. All levels is likely modern Nintendo Switch games style but visually optimized
My Overworld Design Contest 2025 entry from Zavok "Verdantoad Kingdom" (Before Nintendo Switch 2 released), Either other my SMW hacks is eternally hiatus.
He'll yeah, I have great memories of part 1, bet this will be amazing. I dig the nsmb artstyle, it's quite uncommon for smw hacks.

Amazing graphics:
But here's a question: Will you add more languages other than German and Spanish? If yes, I could do a Portuguese translation (it'll be in Brazilian and not European/Portugal Portuguese).

Holy crap, you made a sequel to that ancient hack?! I've never played the first Toad's World in full, but I do have a bit of nostalgia for it, and it hit me like a sack of bricks when I saw this thread! I love how people still appreciate the classic NSMB aesthetic!
Kinda in hibernation for a while. I hope to be back in full swing soon.
Thanks so far everyone!

I'm afraid, I don't have plans for more language support.
Kinda late, but I have seen some progress of this hack over the past 3.5 years or so, and it's all coming great together! Best of luck in your remaining endeavors in your hack!
My Mode 0 guide.

My Discord server. It has a lot of archived ASM stuff, so check that out!

It's nice to see somebody else is also taking care of languages :) I have english and a very special language implemented in my hack to choose...
Other than that, I love the graphics and the general atmosphere. From these screenshots one can already tell the amount of work and love for details you put in it.
Keep it up, I am looking forward to play it!
It's new to me that a hack has support for three different languages in one ROM, and the graphics are also very impressive, Kind of like a different Super Mario Bros. Good work! #smrpg{y}

A question: How many languages can be included in this hack? Do you intend to do it in Brazilian Portuguese?
Thanks everyone!

@lo fang 123: In theory, I can add as many languages as I have space in the ROM.
But like I already said to Green Jerry earlier in this thread:
I don't have plans for other languages at this moment, sorry.
Maybe in the future, but not now.
Good Hack! I completed Toad World 1 in 2022. I want to play new Toad World 2!
Congrats on getting the hack to this point! Toad World's was one of those hacks I played back in the old days. I honestly don't even remember that much about it, but I think my opnion on it was a bit mixed back then?

However, just looking at the hack page of Toad's World 1, and then comparing it to the screenshots shown here, it's so apparent how far you've come as a hacker since then. This hack immediately stands out by having a consistent art style, and while I was honestly never the biggest fan of the NSMB art direction, I gotta admit it's looking pretty great here. You've definitely used it well. Also, I've already heard at least one person claim that your level design in this hack is pretty good. #tb{:j}

So yeah, I'm definitely keeping an eye on this hack, and maybe giving it a go once it's fully released!
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
Thanks a lot!
Yes, Toad's World had mixed feedback about level design. It has been around 10 years since then and I wanted to make a sequel with the critiques in mind to avoid the same mistakes. I think it turned out well. ;)

I wonder who as only 2 people actually finished the hack so far (beta testing). :P

But I'm glad the feedback is positive so far. Let's hope it stays like that upon release. :D
Toad's World always brings back good memories. It was one of the legacy hacks I loved the most, despite its criticized design.
The screens look super polished, and from them I can already tell it's going to be even better than the first one (in terms of design as well #tb{;)}).
Good luck with the development of this! I look forward to the finished hack. #smrpg{y}
Thank you! #smw{:peace:}
