Uhhhhhhhhh... I don't have anything for C3 so enjoy these very awesome and cool Tracker ports, I guess. [FINAL UPDATE]

Super Mario WorldMusicResource Release

Tracker songs. You love them. I love them. Everyone loves them. Even your dog loves them!

There are a lot of hidden gems you can find in the tracker community and tracker archiving websites such as The Mod Archive (which is where I found the songs below); Containing songs long forgotten even by their original creators, as well as songs used in very obscure and weird video games, both collecting e-dust, waiting for someone to rediscover them once again...

Some of these tracker songs however, do end up getting considerable popularity and/or notoriety due to one reason or another, such as one of the songs I'll be showing off today.
This is Federation by Matthew '4mat' Simmonds, used in the infamous Mario fangame "Mario Forever" World 8 Map. (the old Mario Forever one, not the new dogshit one)

4mat - Federation

You might be asking yourself: "Segment, but why did you decide to port Federation specifically?" and to that I answer you... why the fuck not? =P
The actual answer is that Federation is one of the last songs that I'd consider 'portable' from Mario Forever. The other songs have either already been ported, or use upwards of 24 channels in their tracker files, which as of now, I'd deem impossible to port.

Next off, we have an absolute BANGER I stumbled upon all the way in October last year while "Surfin' on The Mod Archive", which is of the more obscure-ish variety.
This is The Radix Point by Drozerix. Incredibly catchy, incredibly cool and incredibly... retro.

Drozerix - The Radix Point

And... huh? That's it?! This is ridiculous! Only two songs for C3?!!
Yes, I know. But! Do not fret, my friends. I will try to squeeze in at least two more ports for your enjoyment by the end of C3.
There is a non-zero chance I could get caught up by irl things and are unable to do so. It shouldn't happen but, just so you know...

Too lazy to find the new port(s) yourself? Click on the link(s) below:
UPDATE ~ Yaz - Ingame 1
UPDATE ~ mellow-d - Walk With me

For now though, I hope you enjoyed what little I have to show off here. Thank you! #smrpg{<3}

"I don't have anything for C3" proceeds to showcase 2 banger songs for C3

No, these are both pretty cool. It's certainly an area of internet music that I'm far less familiar with, so seeing some ports from it is good exposure.

What's your usual process for porting a tracker song like these, by the way? Mainly in terms of getting the note data and samples, but if you wanna give a full breakdown I won't stop you. :)
embed fail!!

Federation is out of control. Might be illegal for an SPC to go this hard.

I really like the Radix Point. Has a smooth sound that's very listenable and a lot of tracker tunes miss the mark on that.

BAAANGEEEER!
yooo awesome stuff
i loved federation, my favorite out of the two

also clickbait title bro you did have stuff to show off smhead
Despite there are just 2 SPCs, both of them are high-quality and banger!

I am really appreciated for your accuracy of porting chiptune music and your musical taste. Great job!
AWESOME! More tracker ports! Can't wait to see more of them very soon!!!

I literally edited your post to read the small text.

Great stuff! It's always a joy to discover new banger tracker songs through equally banger ports that capture said bangerness well, and these deliver.

Looking forward to what else you may or may not have in store!

Yes, finally. Mario Forever - World 8 is a thing. I love this song so much.

And I agree, it may be two songs, but you have just chosen two banger tracker musics. The Radix Point has such a nostalgic feeling to me, must be the samples used.

Superb work with these ports. #smrpg{:3}

New port just in!

Please welcome in a tracker BANGER that is...

Yaz - Ingame 1
Yaz - Ingame 1 (Custom Loop)

Another song found via Surfin' on The Mod Archive. This song by itself doesn't have the best loop, so I adjusted it a bit to have a better one.
And yes, I did, in fact, port this song in one day. I need help.

Stay tuned for more songs! #smrpg{<3}

I used to port tracker songs a bit differently in the past, but I wasn't satisfied with the sample quality of the... well... samples, so now I'm using a different approach.

Before what I used to do is open the module in OpenMPT, go over to the samples tab, convert them all to 16-Bit and export them as wav (like you would normally), then simply make samples out of them with C700.

Nowadays, I usually just re-record the samples as they are played in the samples tab (with Audacity), instead of letting OpenMPT do the conversion work, to get a cleaner sample rip. Sure, it is more tedious this way but it sounds way better, as you can tell by the songs I've shown off so far.

Next, you solo-out every channel and export Midis of them (File -> Export as Midi...). You can just convert the whole song to Midi without caring but it's way easier to go on a channel by channel basis, at least, in my experience.

From there, It's pretty much like porting any other song, BUT you have to be acquainted with the syntax tracker modules use for vibrato, volume fading, and other stuff, since that won't be converted over properly, meaning you have to do it manually. You can check out the OpenMPT Help file for the info.

If you have any more questions/need clarifications, let me know and I'll gladly answer! #smrpg{<3}
This is also my port routine for tracker songs. The only difference I make is that most of the time I record otherwise poorly converted samples directly with OpenMPT. Via Stream export and then Export to Sample Slot <empty slot>. The preset preemphasis of the C700 VST plugin can also drastically change the sample, but at the same time helps against clipping.
Yaz - Ingame 1 is a mega great port bro! #smrpg{<3}

Dude these are amazing!!! Holy shit. I’m confident I wouldn’t even need to the original versions bc your track (hehe) record shows your accuracy! This is pretty awesome. At some point some of these sound like they’re synth based rather than sample based. Can’t imagine the work and effort that went behind these. As a music porter myself I’m more on the simple sample based but sophisticated songs that use multiple samples bc of different octaves like porting gba or nes music is its whole beast that I can’t even comprehend. This is a perfect example of quality over quantity. Congrats my dude!
Major thanks to Suika Ibuki for layout!

What I have observed from many tracker songs I've heard including these is the heavy bass, samples, and arpeggios. Quite interesting indeed... anyways, all your ports are awesome! Doesn't even sound like anything from the SNES! Impressive how you managed to finish the third one in just a day!

I didn't specify which 'C3 end' I meant, hehe :)

Here is the fourth and final song I have ready for all you beautiful people at home!~ Please stand back for...

mellow-d - Walk With Me

And with that, our short tracker journey is over... (for now)

Thanks everyone for the nice comments/compliments and, once again, I hope you all enjoyed what little I had for this C3! #smrpg{<3}

PS: I also uploaded all of the songs to the SMW Music Section. =P
