Luigi's Quest: Trouble in Sarasaland (SMBX2)

Non-Super Mario WorldStandardFull ReleaseScreenshotsTrailer

Hello, people of SMW Central! I just joined here after hearing about C3 starting soon! So now that it's here, it's time to show what I've released recently:

Luigi's Quest: Trouble in Sarasaland is an episode made in SMBX2; and is heavily inspired by Super Mario Land! It takes place after the bros' latest adventure, as they visit Sarasaland for a rather special occasion. But things escalate quickly with the return of a certain purple alien...

Playing as Luigi only, get through a total of 37 levels, within the kingdom of Sarasaland! Revisit the 4 classic kingdoms from the original game, alongside 2 completely new worlds at the start and end respectively! Some levels are recreations of the classic levels from SML, but most of them are completely original! This SMBX episode acts as a way to expand Sarasaland as a whole, adding new locations and settings into the mix...

SCREENSHOTS:

Here are some screenshots; giving yourself a taste of what's gonna be in this episode:

Here's the release trailer of the episode, which includes more footage you can see: (Some of it has been changed over the course of development, but regardless)

DOWNLOAD:

You can download the latest version of the episode here! It can only be played in the latest version of SMBX2, which is Beta 5 Patch 2:

I hope you'll download and enjoy the episode! I worked on it for almost a year on this, making it polished and fun to play, with the help of many people in terms of graphics, scripts etc.

And with that, I'm off. I hope to join in future C3 events whenever I can!

Hey there, welcome to SMWC! This community doesn't dabble in SMBX too much (or at least I don't), but that's no excuse to leave this thread at zero replies.

Just from the screenshots alone, those are some really diverse level settings that all look fun to play! The higher resolution and widescreen format are both weird at first glance and nostalgic as well - seeing Mario fangames with fewer limits than SMW always makes me think back to the Flash games I played in the 2000s.

Liking the title image as well!

It certainly looks nicer than the original game. I've barely tried SMBX and never tried SMBX2 (that I recall); does it have to be downloaded to play games made for it?

----------------

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.

Thanks! I've been looking around in here for a long time, but I decided to finally make an account just so I could showcase this in C3! (And will showcase more on this department in future C3s)
