Bienvenidos a otro post! #smrpg{cool}

--------------------------------------------------------------------------
In this C3, I'm finally unveiling the Melody Hack I've been working on since last year

Over the past year, I've been working on this thing people ended liking, meant to be a simple showcase off the player sprite for fun, and later ended being his own thing. As I said, this has been in the works from January of 2023 to January of 2024, I wanted to release this in January 18 but couldn't do it due to some things. But now it's finally here.
This hack aims to be like the old hacks, so, you won't be seeing fancy shit and gimmicks or setups like those "new" hacks, you have been warned

Here, a look of what this hack has to offer

But that's not all, for limited (Not really) time, you can get the player sprite for FREE!. Note that this was meant to be used with the 32x32 patch, the 16x16 hitbox, and you need a few extra hex edits to make it work, yeah this is a "complex" thing to use
Special thanks to lx5 for the help with the hex edits #smrpg{<3}

I did see your hack in the Work in Progress and it's nice to see available for download. I'm not sure why the screenshots are small.

I beat the first castle. Liked the castle and line guide level the most in terms of level design, but the first level really draws you in the with the movement and depth to the graphics. Maybe I'll play more of this, as I'm sure you're cooking on later levels. Either way, good job #smrpg{y}

Glad to see this being released after seeing it on development. Also glad to be helpful during development.

Sequel when.

Wonderful romhack

Is unusual to see fangames of Sanrio properties, so it's welcome!

Also congrats on your romhacking experience improvement!

Have a frost day~
Seems like a cute little hack with cute player graphics.
When I'm in the mood for a simple hack I'll play it.
7 health points seems a lot. I see in the video you start with 2. Are health upgrade optional?
Very cute character design and the hack itself looks very much fun. I'll play it tomorrow and see how it goes. #smrpg{y}

Not sure, I took them with Snes9x and those are tiny

Thanks, I have seen some people struggling with the first castle, glad to hear someone cleared it

You indeed start with 2 hearts, this because the og sprite didn't had "Big" sprites. The health upgrades are optional, after all they are hidden through the game

Thanks everybody for the comments regarding the hack, I appreciate it, and I hope you all have fun with this thing #smrpg{y}
The world needs more cute main characters, good job.
Screenshots look good, will try this when I'll get home.

EDIT: Just tried this, finished world 1. Pretty nice hack. For some reason I expected more sanrio characters (as NPCs and whatnot), but I assume there are none.
The player sprite is incredibly cute, and I really like the aesthetic in some of those levels. I think overall, the different art style do clash a little, but I think the levels that use a more painty art style (like the first two or three levels from the trailer) all look really nice!
Feel free to visit my website/blog - it's updated rarely, but it looks pretty cool!
I've never heard of the original media, but the custom player character is interesting and cute. Isn't this the hack that had that one level with the dolphin that always stays directly underneath you?

I'm working on a hack! Check it out here. Progress: 64/95 levels.

Yep, this hack is just melody and a few NPCs related to sanrio, mostly because I couldn't find sprites or games that had decent size of sprites

It ended being an "artistic" choice, kind of. The SMM Sprite is rom the NES Mario Style, and I ended leaving the flat colors just to give more vibes of graphical clash like the old hacks

You mean the one I showed randomly in the server? Yeah it's this one
I played the demo from a previous C3 and enjoyed it with the intention of checking out the full hack, so congrats on the full release! It's definitely on my list to play when I get a chance.
