A demo for Spesh Planet 2 is here! It's admittedly not much... but that's okay! 5 exits is still a good introduction to the hack I think.

The rest of it is certainly taking way longer than I thought, haha. The initial plan was to actually release the full thing today! But to me that just means this hack will truly be something special once it's done, and hopefully it will be to you too.

But for now, I hope you at least enjoy an appetizer of Spesh Planet 2!

...A KAIZO HACK!!



That's right, I'm also working on a Kaizo hack! I thought it would be fun to dip my toes into this kind of level design again, using levels from the first Spesh Planet as blueprints. I actually came up with this idea back in April 2023, but wasn't really feeling up to it at the time. Luckily for present me, I am feeling up to it at the time!

So far I only have one (1) completely untested level, but I figured there's no harm in dropping a demo for that here as well.

⚠️ SPESH ALERT ⚠️

I think I've already endlessly expressed my love for Spesh Planet and its sequel, but this is a great opportunity to reiterate that I'm super excited for the sequel, and just as excited to try out the demo! (I love the meme in your post.)

But what was a real Spesh Surprise for me was the existence of Common Space! The Spesh Planet Cinematic Universe never ceases to grow, and I'm excited to see what I can only refer to as the B-side of this Special Planet looks like! It's a very cool concept, and I feel like it fits Spesh Planet's overall concept like a (super mario's autumn) glove(s)!

Yoo, Spesh Planet 2 demo, let's go. Looking forward to play it very soon. Also, quite surprised you did try your take on the kaizoverse. I might try to play it, but I'm not very good at technical tricks or doing hard maneuvers. Keep up the superb work, E-man38. :O


I always think interesting results come from someone who doesn't really make a lot of kaizo, and from what I played I could see good bones in there so I hope you keep it up. It is a lot more go-your-own-pace than modern kaizo and has some spots where you need to figure it out like old kaizo (especially with screen scroll still present) which I actually liked to see. Looking forward to see what comes of this. :)

Haha, I'm glad that Common Space was as much of a surprise as I thought it would be. Not talking about it was really difficult!

That's the idea! I wanted to try and experiment with level design that didn't necessarily have to be done in quick succession, glad you were able to pick up on that. I'm still gonna refine things as I go along to strengthen the proverbial bones though, so hopefully it'll be worth the wait!
