good old days 4 - Some levels and their descriptions

Hi! Since I have entered business life, I cannot devote much time to SMWC anymore. That's why good old days 4 is progressing a little slowly. Last night I started a lot of the themes I was considering for the hack. I don't know when it will be completed.

I really wanted to start C3 with more energy and fullness, but... Here... Real life... Okay, whatever.

Then I leave screenshots and descriptions of the designated levels;

1 - Seaweed and Salmon Restaurant

When Mario approaches, the piranha plants become invisible and cannot harm you.

2 - mjolnir toss

A level with hammer bro glitches

3 - unusual insect trampoline

A level with a weird 1f0 + wiggler glitch and the video is HERE

4 - pessimistic lightsabers

A goal point tape themed level

5 - grilled meatball billboards

info box + layer 3 tide themed level

6 - sassy pencil woods

You can pass right between the wooden spikes standing side by side without dying.

7 - Carrots Also Swim, Carrots Also Fly

A green platform themed level that both floats on water and floats in the air

9 - aggressive totem temple

A 1f0 + thwomp themed level

10 - Heavenly Red Bull Commercial

A flying question block themed level

11 - Plumber snaps his fingers

Mario will slide the screen according to the movements of some sprites and make the sprites disappear.

[12 - NO NAME]

(Theme where the closed pipe with disco block opens when you kill the big boo boss [spooky version of Mulberry Forest Gang])

13 - Harry Potter's Forehead

There will be a theme related to Sumo Bro lightning's teleport glitchi. It took me a while to achieve this with sprite memory, but IT WILL HAPPEN! Of course, lag may also occur. That slow screen, slow setups... It's kind of scary.

[14 - NO NAME]

Mario must get the 30 coins in the level and get 1-up from the star block.

15 - World Record for Tallest Vegan Tower

There will be a glitch to pass through walls with Carrot top lift and green bean.

[16 - NO NAME]

A level about blocksnake and its glitches

[17 - NO NAME]

A memory game level on checkpoint and specifically 1-up checkpoint. There will be some passwords in certain rooms and by going the right way with those passwords, a 1-up checkpoint will be opened and the exit door will appear.

18 - Boring Locksmith Island

A level with switches and some setups can be a bit tedious and tiring.

18 - Burger King Foot Lettuce

Strange level with green switch button. And thanks to the Old-school spriteset settings... tubular torpedoes and mushrooms... pipe mouths, strange colors... We can see one of the most abnormal spritesets.

[19 - NO NAME]

We will need an earthquake effect to show the solid blocks of layer 1 and layer 2 transparent blocks. By the way, I can choose another graphic because the black edges of the blocks are very eye-tiring.

[20 - NO NAME]

Sprite memory glitch will be made with Banzai bill and other sprites will be invisible. It's actually a bit of a quick thinking theme.

21 - Darude Sandstorm

I liked the glitch of the 'Unknown Force' entry in VLDC13 and may apply it if it fits the old-school conditions.

[22 - NO NAME]

It will be a floating skull themed level. I found a few glitches and I think you can create nice setups with them.

[23 - NO NAME]

A level where Yoshi will try to escape from the wings. I don't have high hopes for this level, but okay!

There are other ideas and setups, but I'm not sure and I don't want to make this place too crowded. I hope I can complete the hack soon

Now that I've started working, I won't be able to be as active as before. This is really very sad and depressing for me.

These screenshots are delicious! I appreciate how you're always able to come up with such creative visuals for good old days, only using vanilla tiles and palettes no less. I find it very inspiring as a fellow vanilla enthusiast.

The levels themselves look enjoyably engaging, with lovely names so far as well. My personal favourites would have to be Seaweed and Salmon Restaurant, sassy pencil woods, and World Record for Tallest Vegan Tower. I'm excited to see the rest!

I'm equally excited to see more of good old days 4 as a whole! There's no rush of course, tending to real life stuff is fully understandable.

What is a Lunar Magic, and can I eat it?
It's cool to see a bit of progress on the hack, the good old days serie is one of my favorites and I'm always impressed by your creativity, especially with everything you can do in terms of ideas and aesthetics in the old-school style.
I'll definitely play the hack when it'll be released, good luck on the development!

How do you even keep coming up with such unconventional ideas and still make them enjoyable?

The only hack from the series I've played is 3, and I already got hooked up by the variety of Unintended Behavior-esque gimmicks it had in there. Don't worry about creating it slowly, we all have lives and understand you. Good luck with this hack's development!
