In one dream I recently had, I was playing a Soul Blazer ROM hack with lots of custom graphics, music and mechanics, and Blazer was resurrecting various fictional characters. I remember that the Zelda ALTTP Light World theme was playing in one of its custom early game dungeons, and it had a chase scene where Run! from FFIV was playing.
In a dream I played a level that ended up becoming a level from my hack, but I died several times at the finish line each time, It was Strange.
I was totally hypnotized and on some substance that distorted my reality.

I dreamed that Cursed Cathedral was in Chrono Trigger, and used in the Northern Ruins/Hero's Grave
And I guess I can make that dream come true since I can music hack Chrono Trigger
One dream I had about a ROM hack was that Cool or Cruel Part 2 got finished after all these years, and had a final boss against Sephiroth, who assumed his One-Winged Angel Form and the song itself had good audio quality and the vocals as well. Supernova sent the player to Small Mario and reversed the player's controls.

I was playing Keytastrophe as a kid, and some of the music was sampled. While a lot of songs were still unsampled, one of the castles played a sampled version of Tier 3 of Dancing Mad.
I was playing Final Fantasy V with pixelated characters from Genshin Impact, being able to attack enemies with 7 elements. I was primarily using Ayaka, though.
I dreamed about watching a video of someone doing a massively alternate route through the first room of Adrenaline Rush where instead of P-jumping where the P-Switch above the lava is, they somehow manipulated an eating block to go through and eat some lava tiles and Mario got underneath where the lava tiles are (even tho IRL there's nothing under the lava and there is no eating block anywhere near there) and jumped up through the gap made by the eating block to get the P-Switch. I don't remember what else went on but it looked convoluted enough that it might not have counted as cheesing (and facetiously considered referring to my own intended solution as a "cheese strategy").

I've had a number of SMW hacking-related dreams throughout my life. Here's some I can remember and describe at the moment:
- A level which started in a room inside a purple cave, with a Chargin' Chuck that was inexplicably resprited as Ronald McDonald guarding a pipe to the main part of the level: a lilac-colored athletic level set on the underside of a cliff overhang.
- A level set in a black void, with Star Fox-esque 3D white blocks as platforms.
- A castle level with a light green background, and a foreground made completely of translucent ice cubes. I specifically remember that the music here was Alice in Wonderland from Touhou 5.Kinda in hibernation for a while. I hope to be back in full swing soon.

Not quite, but I have had an instance mid-OWDC where I was sleepy and had to get out of bed for school, but convinced myself to not get out of bed because "the pathing wasn't set up right for me to move out of bed". Like me going from laying down to sitting up and getting out of bed was equivalent to Mario walking from one level to another on the overworld and getting derailed by a broken path that leads him back to the level he came from. Realistically, I think my brain just wanted an excuse to sleep in.
As a teen, I had a dream of an ASM heavy Zelda Oracle of Seasons ROM hack called Oracle of Crossovers, which was a mega crossover where Link had to face a team-up of Nintendo villains led by Bowser and Kefka.
I recently had a dream where I thought I was in some kind of actual level in Super Mario 64, it looks very identical to Tall Tall Mountain but it felt very different. I'm not really sure how to describe it, but the area I found myself in was there was a long hallway under the mountain that was cave-like, but there one part that didn't have a wall so I might've been under some cliff, and this path was full of goombas and coins. There was a left turn but I never traveled through it to see what was after the turn. It didn't have the music either, just a strange ambiance of wind and the goombas.
One dream I had was a Pokemon Emerald ROM Hack that added the Elemental Crystals as held items. The Fire Crystal boosts Fire-Type moves by 50%, while the Water Crystal does the same to Water-type moves. The Wind Crystal boosted Flying type moves while the Earth Crystal boosted Ground Type moves. One cutscene showed May using the Water Crystal to calm Kyogre.
