Modern Redrawn Mario Bros. 1.5 (last update - February 14, 2023, some new bonus frames, tons of minor touchups to various poses)

On Pixel Art Requests: Depends on what it is and if I have the time for it. If its complex and I don't have the time, don't expect me to accept it.

Projects I support:

The issue has been resolved
As a Zelda fan, I absolutely love your ports of The Goddess Appears (with or without the intro). They sound amazing!
All of these are incredibly done h.carrell! Monster Stomach is a really funny song to port. Keep it up! #smrpg{<3}
Wow these ports sound lit I’m Very excited to add to my future hacks
All of these are top notch ports!

I'm super fond of Front Mission: Gun Hazard as a really tense song that doesn't actually break the tension by going really hard into it. Monster Stomach is also a great combination of really weird and tense in its own right, so the kind of song that would fit well in something that's comedic, but not exactly safe either.

Other Submissions of mine!

A lot of these songs I'm not inherently familiar with, so my reactions will be first-time listens. Would not have expected that Monster Stomach port to be a C3 song, but I'm here for it. I was surprised by the calmness of Kalen, which is pleasant even if simple. That combined with the epic nature of Military Government could've convinced me this was just a JRPG off of soundtrack alone. Enemy Raid, on the other hand, is very of it's genre, I'm not as familiar with the composer so it's interesting to see where the composers that weren't Mitsuda went with their Gun Hazard music. Goddess theme being the only one I do recognize is a classic, and I'm guessing you used a Chrono Trigger harp for it in this case? (or one of the games with adjacent samples). I always forget how similar Sutte Hakkun's sample set is to SMW's, so I keep thinking the sampled version is the unsampled for a second, haha. Mixed Match has a similar energy to tracks from Mario Paint. I wonder if Treasure Stolen could work for a game over theme, timing wise.

Overall, cool stuff! I look forward to potentially seeing more stuff from you!

Seems like this song is a little popular in this thread. Almost like the sequel to the Sand Planet port I did last C3.

Kalen was probably the easiest song I ported here because of it's simplicity. Military Government was also pretty easy

I'm sure it would interest you to know the same composer also did the music for Treasure Conflix,. Then again, it seems not a whole lot of people know about these games and their soundtracks.

Yeah, I used the Gun Hazard sample pack with this one, but the harp does return from Chrono Trigger (Along with the Low Piano) (Harp is also used in Treasure Conflix, with an ADSR of $FF $E0)

That's part of why I added a define to use the Vanilla SMW samples. I also think they sound better. The define is also there for those who want 100% accurate sampling.

I've also been told the Sine Wave sample sounds like Earthbound's.

Yeah I can definitely see this being used for a Game Over (Not as a Global song). I'm gonna tag this song as such once it's submitted to the section.
Hey h.carrell, I found a major problem: the Sutte Hakkun port's text file is completely missing. Speaking of which, I like how you made a version of the song with SMW samples (although the filename misled me into thinking it was fully unsampled). Btw, did you know someone had already ported that over a decade ago here?

As for the 'Monster Stomach' port, pretty weird with the sounds but I dig it! I also noticed how close the string in 'Treasure Stolen' is to the FF6 one.

Thank you for letting me know. The top post has been updated. And no, I didn't know there was already a port.

I'm sure you could give the song the FF6 string and it could sound about the same (Almost like the time I edited Daizo's Abnormal Asylum to use Gun Hazard's Pipe Organ)
Err, the 'Sutte Hakkun' sample folder is missing and the 'smrpg' one should probably be removed...
