Russ' ASM Request Thread - Flora Editiona - Summer 2024

I don't have any requests, but I do have a couple things to say.
First, props for having the patience to tackle through with user requests. It can be pretty stressful especially because of the short time window from C3, but helping a person by fulfilling one of their wishes is so rewarding -- that's why I enjoyed making requests back in the day, and I'm happy to see someone carrying the tradition. Especially because your threads come with a theme, and a pretty cool one at that!
Second, you have come a long way since back in the day when we were in staff together. I'm proud of what you have done here! The sprites you showcased in this thread feel very vanilla-ish and those are my favorite. Grat job!!
Third, those volcano lotuses look especially evil and I can't wait to get my hands in them 😈

All in all, a pretty good job RussianMan!

You should avoid this plant. Not because it's poisonous, but because of its combustive qualities. Them spitting bombs in your face isn't very nice either:

Thanks, I really appreciate it. I was hesitant to start doing these at first, but once I started... it was pretty fun doing them even if exhausting due to the short amount of time. As for the last point, go ham with evil mode. Don't forget dramatic evil laughter!

Melon Plant
A stationary piranha plant that spits a barrage of seeds every so often (like Ukiki from Yoshi's Island). I drew a melon peel plant head ages ago (gfx.bin here) imagining this plant:

I suppose this idea is just a sort-of reskinned Venus that just shoots a burst of fireballs in a cardinal direction with greater speed instead of targeting Mario.

How about an edit of the Venus Firetraps that makes them spit iceballs instead of fireballs? It would be nice to see sideways and upside-down variants as options if you decide to take this one, and regarding the iceballs, could you possibly make them stun the player for a few frames in addition to doing damage, please?

This plant gives you a cold shoulder. And cold everything else, because the ice ball is that cold:
