This is my newest hack with a Blurp as the protagonist. I've made a small testlevel (wich can be seen later in the post) and I've finished the Blurp-gfx

Story
=======

It's just another day in the Mushroom Kingdom, when suddenly Bowser appeared out of nowhere and started attacking Mario.
Mario lost and was turned into a Blurp.
Later he find out that Bowser used a secret Treasure to cast a spell on him. The treasure lies deep in the ocean and is guarded by Mario's old enemy: Goober Blooper
Mario decided to take a dive in the ocean and find the treasure so he can change back into his true self.

General Info
=============

This hack will contain:
- custom sprites
- selfdrawn/ripped gfx
- custom music
- ASM "light"

The hack will have about 15 levels, with each another style. (Few examples: Ghoul Reef, Gravity Reef, Rainbow Reef)

FUNFACT: I'm currently busy with drawing 8 diffrent water-styles in total!

Because I think that one video says more than 20 screenshots, I've made a small testlevel:

Well, this is basically just a small testlevel to show the movements of Blurp. (I'm aware of those small cutoff-corners and the fact that I have to use the fade-fixpatch, so please don't point on those things)


More things will be revealed later...
It seems good, overally. Hacks with an enemie as a protagonist are becoming really popular, by the way. I also liked your graphics choices. I would suggest, however, to do a few hex edits in it, in order to turn Blurp's moves into something less-SMW. However, if you want to give it a "SMW feel", than keep it that way.

Yeah, I've forgot to mention about those... But I've a lot interessting ideas to change the feeling of the controls.

Well, the Cheep-Cheeps are Gooper Bloopers minions and Blurp(Mario) is on his way to defeat him, so they're protecting the leader. (Just as Koopas and Goombas)
Ok. It seems like a very nice hack btw and I'm looking forward to playing it ;)
(there's probably gonna be a fight between this and blooper world, lol)
This is probably both extremely hard to do and will wreck all your finished levels, but I must comment on the possibility of ASM that will make Mario/Blurp suffocate in air?

Then again its just a stupid idea and probably wont work.
This looks really nice and like a lot of fun. But how can a Blurp run outside of water :D ? Probably you should make it so that Blurp can not move outside of water excepting for jumping or sliding (slopes)? But on the other hand that might just break the game too much.

@ Spooky Ghost: I think there already is a hack (with Blooper as protagonist) that has a bar that lets you only be outside of water for a limited time.

I don't know which idea you're talking about, but I've never said that I was going to do something extremely difficult...

I hope there is a water timer. Since your playing as a fish. But that's just something to think about. Right now I like where your going but maybe try to make the level design a little more challenging. Even though that was the first and only one i've seen. Just maybe it could bring more entertainment to the game :D

I was thinking of the water timer, but then I would be copying Super Blooper World (sorry, I don't remember it's exact name)
But I'm working on some other solution.
(Hint: What does Cheep-Cheeps on the land?)

And the level was just a simple testlevel I made in 5 minutes :)
I cant wait to play as a blurp. This looks good, not lookin at the level, just blurp.
