I know it isn't a whole lot but it's better than nothing right? This shows off a bit of the overworld as well as a blue mountain level based off of a small beta screenshot you may have seen. It includes the beta koopas and goombas, the big beta coins, and the flying red coin. It also includes the beta blue coins, which I use to hint at something secret or hidden. Please enjoy and don't be afraid to suggest/ask questions.
Hmmm... that's cool, Yoshi Master. This looks like something Nintendo would make. I like your graphics a lot, they match up almost perfectly with Beta Screenshots. Nice inferred level design as well... a bit linear, but hey, that's Nintendo-quality for ya. Always making the difficulty appeal to casuals...
Those are the best graphics I've seen that didn't involve a radical overhaul. The overworld could use work, mostly just tweaked graphics, but it looks awesome.
I also thought that not many others were using the blue coins to mark secrets... oh, well.
Well the ovwerowrld will remain the same for the beta screenshots sake. Anyway, thanks!
I've read your thread many times, and it's nice to know your still working on this. It's also refreshing to see your work in action...it really looks impressive. I'm pretty excited to see a demo in the future. Good work!
You know... now that I think about it, wasn't there some music that someone found? If there was, there's a good chance the instruments are shared with the final. I doubt it, but it's just a thought.
EDIT: Shortly after posting, I found an expired link for the Beta music. IT'S OUT THERE.
Also, I took another look at some beta screen shots, and I noticed that Super Mario looks... a bit off. Not because he's burred, but like they redid his graphics.
I'm gonna try to trace them, see if that gets any results. If it does, I'll let you know.
People say it's out there, but in my SMW Hack Discussion thread we concluded that the people who claim there link had it didn't really know what they were talking about. If there will be any custom music, it will be the one in the SNES Test Program.
