te's Exo - New Hack Release by EvilGuy0613 and Daizo Dee Von

Super Mario WorldStandardFull ReleaseScreenshotsTrailer

Happy C3, friends! Me and EvilGuy0613 have been on-and-off working on a smaller-scale project for the past 2 years in complete secret...and the fruits of our labour have finally allowed us to present the project in the nick of time of Valentine's Day.

This is "TE'S EXO," a short hack that tells the story of the aftermath of the Mushroom Kingdom. The hack can 100% be played with no further context.

For those who care about the finer details, seek the collapse below.

The hack features three sections with a couple of original boss fights, and an original soundtrack on top of several cutscenes and secrets to uncover. If you're familiar with the hack "Summoned" (a collab between myself and Jamie), it's using a very similar game structure.

SCREENSHOTS:

(a couple of) THE ORIGINAL SONGS:
Track #02 - The Last Line of Defense (YouTube Version)
Track #04 - Until Kingdom Fall (YouTube Version)

Hopefully you enjoy this shorter hack. It's got an edge people who are into darker stories will enjoy. Don't get too gloam about it, you might just walk the road...

Give it a try! You'll have a good 15-45 minutes on it.
What an experience this hack was I’m more eager for more Mute Action and where does Mario’s Grandson live in this universe
beautiful project and especially the trailer!

Hey cool hack. Enjoyed the story. Level design was pretty chill. Nice soundtrack, too.

I was already expecting a cool job and you proved me wrong once again. The details and the plot were prepared very successfully. The powerful attacks of some sprites gave a sweet irritation :) Sometimes I also liked the tension of Team JANK hacks and the possibility of jumpscare. I rarely got bored in some setups but it did not harm the progress of my fun. Great job!
Now that I've started working, I won't be able to be as active as before. This is really very sad and depressing for me.

WORK IN PROGRESS
▬ good old days 4 [RELEASED!] [DOWNLOAD]

▬ dumb 2 - strange levels in my notepad (22/62 level(s) completed)

Although I'm not a fan of edgy-themed hacks (with some exceptions), seeing all the effort that was put into this one is something to applaud.
This was a very halloween-like experience, for sure. Hahahaha! Really glad of having tested this one.

The lore, attention to the details and graphics were on point. Such fantastic presentation is complemented by amazing compositions and hand-drawn cutscene graphics. I also like the message that this story tell us. Level design is difficult, but very manageable. Congratulations to you, Daizo and Evilguy! You guys cooked something really cool. :O

Looks pretty neat, spooky lil trailer you've got there lol
mfw mute jumpscare

Will give it a little try soon, it's neat to see you continously getting new and interesting passion projects out there, I know you guys always put in your best!
I just love the way you use to title your hacks DDV. Also this hack seems to be serious thing, as the hearts here are simply HUMAN ORGANS.

Thanks for giving our game a try! Ask and you shall receive. We can promise you that more Mute Action will be on the way. As for Mario's Grandson...you'll have to keep an eye out of that. #ab{;)}

Thank you thank you! Glad you liked the game. Daizo knocked it out of the park with the soundtrack I feel.

Glad you had a nice experience with it. I hope sprites didn't cause too much problems haha. I'm still rather new to ASM.

Thank you! I do have to say that a hella of a lot of detail was put into this and absolutely no corner was cut. We definitely had a great time putting this together.

Thank you so much Anorakun! One of my favorite aspects about this project was how the narrative was put together which includes the hand drawn cutscenes made by Daizo.

Some can say it's not for the faint of heart #ab{;)}

Thanks everyone in general for checking out our project!
Guess I'm alive again...

My Youtube Channel for Hacking and Gaming.
I played it and enjoyed it. Not much to say. I thought the final boss was on the longer side, but then I realized, I died on the last phase, so it's not that long. Super Mario World: The After Years is a nostalgic one for me, and this is a pretty dark and twisted spin on it, which I did like. I hope there's more to come from Mute and co., this can't be all, right?

Yeah the final boss is pretty tough, but GG on getting through it! I'm happy you enjoyed the dark spin on an older hack. I'm also helping Evilguy finish SMW: The After Years II which has new levels coming out for it, so it's not the last you'll see of the cast (especially since it's a return-to-form.)

To quote Evilguy, yes thank you for checking our project out! Happy C3, friends!
