tahixham's retirement

hi. idk what to write here but fpzero made a retirement thread so i'm making one too because i'm cool like that.

A couple months ago I made the decision to retire from SMWC staff. Main reason - I'm no longer in a position to commit to SMWC staff/admin stuff etc as much as I used to be. Nothing bad! Just life changes, you get less free time. Bla bla. And here we are!

This run on staff for me was my second-ish stint on staff for me. Having rejoined staff in I think 2019 as a little forum moderator, growing up to be the big bad forum boss and then badgering the admins to make me an admin too - then even getting to code some cool features for the site as well! But I used to be staff before that! I used to moderate and eventually managed the SMW Graphics section too between 2013-15. (I even had a brief stint as a PR helper in 2017 but then I vanished into thin air - we won't talk about that!)

Regardless, it's safe to say my "SMWC career" has been fulfilling! And I hope you all benefitted from something I've done for the site in one way or another

I'd like to thank all the SMWC staff, section managers, and admins for doing what they do. Being staff is a thankless task - and all they want to do is make the site better and keep the cogs of SMWC turning. So, if you get the chance when some kind moderator moderates your submission - drop them a note to say thank you. Also, don't be mean to the staff. Sometimes you may not agree with what they do, and that's okay. It's good to challenge if you don't think something is right, but don't be mean - the staff have the best of intentions even if you don't see it ;)

Whoa, I gotta admit, this is a surprise I didn't see coming.

I totally understand when the time comes to put an end to something; it can definitely be an emotional time when things change and you just don't have the time to keep doing what you were doing (I went through a somewhat similar experience; I was a worker and a player of a Pokemon themed Hangman game, and a few factors made me retire from the game completely as both a worker and player).

I'm so thankful you made the C3 topic a couple of years ago where you took requests for custom userbars. From the bottom of my heart, thanks again for making the Zelda one you made for me. That is something I'll never forget about you here Tahixham.

There's one more thing I want to tell you, but I think I'll save it for a Discord DM as it relates to something you mentioned here in the spoilers.

I'll echo others in that I didn't see your resignation coming. I understand your reasoning, as real life is always knocking one way or another. I remember when we talked privately sometimes, even if not much, about staff (or otherwise) matters. Your contributions to the site won't lie forgotten.

God, before and after Tahix retired, our fate was sealed,I always come back.
