Had an idea for a shell sprite that switches back and forth between a regular, throwable shell and a disco shell. It would have the following features:
- Exists as a regular shell
- Turns into a disco shell after being thrown by Mario
That's the essence of the idea. Additional functionalities that could be cool to play with would be:
- Disco shell could be 'stunned' back into a regular shell. (1) By passing over a block hit by Mario from below, or (2) after a certain number of bounces (toggleable? labeled?)
- The now regular shell could be picked up and thrown again (once again turning into a disco shell)
- A stun timer, so that it only exists as a regular shell for a certain time before returning to its 'disco' state.
I know there are sprites here and there with these pieces in place, I am just hopeless at ASM. Apologies if such a sprite already exists - I could not find it.
