Yeah, that's exactly why I want carol's one.
It's actually a number line on reading it, as you move right, the value increases. The colors represents how fast that particular value is. Alcaro, I think it's best to have them both posted just in case. I'll work on a newer version.Give thanks to RPG hacker for working on Asar.
I think the biggest problem with your charts (any of them) is that there is too much text. It just makes them look unappealing.
Not to mention black text on white background is just a bit boring and uncreative.
Taking this for example:
I don't think all this text is necessary, as long as the one reading it is not a complete idiot, he can make out that the values go from 00 to FF even without the arrow.
And the blue and red box symbolizing what is fast and what is slow should also be enough without all that text in the bottom half.
I think the only text necessary in this would be "right/down", "left/up", "BPL #$00-7F", "BMI #$80-FF" and the slow/fast color boxes below.Anime statistic on MyAnimeList:

Don't hotlink, just save it on media.smwcentral and image-link it there.Give thanks to RPG hacker for working on Asar.
Maybe I'm just missing something, but what exactly is it about Carol's that needs to be improved upon? As Ladida said, it's simple but straightforward. Your latest version is even more confusing with all that text on the side than your last version. It feels like you're over complicating stuff for no reason other than because you can. For instance, a newcomer to ASM can look as Carol's and visually understand speed values in relation to a sprite easily enough. While the same could be said for yours you then muddle it with unnecessary information that will only lead to further questions. I completely understand what you're explaining there, but sometimes for the purpose of clarity less is more.

The text on the right is just a key to represent the colors and icons, after that it's a tip on making a sprite having equal speeds in opposite directions, it doesn't look too confusing to me because I organized the values so now the reader gets how the direction works.Give thanks to RPG hacker for working on Asar.
I gotta say, I don't really like your wording:

#$F0 is unsigend is 240 and not -#$10. #$F0 signed is -#$10. I'm a bit nitpicky here but that's how Two's complement works.
I get what you're trying to say though.
Also, did you make this before or after reading my above post?
If I had to pick, I'd say the previous looks even better. As before, there seems to be too much text.

Maybe the fact that newbies can't immediatelly tell which values are for fast and which are for slow speed. Again, if you're familiar with two's complement, it's not all that difficult.Anime statistic on MyAnimeList:

I notice that carol's diagram on smwc was hotlinked, not saved on media.smwcentral:

That actually already looks better, but no reason to make it this big. I think scaling it down and maybe making the lines and writing a bit more visible (possible through other background) would improve it.
Second, I have no valid proof (yet) but there are some deleted posts in your recent history and your last post here continues to trigger the NEW for me. Which leads me to the assumption that you delete and repost things with basically the same content?
If so, please stop that, that's what the edit button is for.Anime statistic on MyAnimeList:

I find it reads extremely awkward since there is no FF. As is, I read it as Left = 01-7F and Right = 01-80. Same goes for up and down. Newbies especially aren't going to readily assume right/up speeds count down from FF. But then, you're just right back at Carol's original diagram, so...

I see what you mean, how the connection from zero to 80, update: Give thanks to RPG hacker for working on Asar.
literally just carol's diagram. i dont see why we need to replace something that's already pretty much perfect.
Just shows fast and slow direction values, carol's represents only the range of numbers (inexperienced asm'mers might knows only the direction, but not what is the faster value in the range, the "~" symbol looks like a range rather a number line in relation of speed.)Give thanks to RPG hacker for working on Asar.
Eh, I'm as inexperienced as I can get when it comes to ASM but even I understood the original diagram when I was experimenting with sprites like two years ago. All it takes is a bit of common sense and nothing more.
Okay nevermind let's switch back to carol's version (idk why it's not saved on media.smwc, rather hot linked to darol's website...)
Hey alcaro, can you upload the carol's sprite speed diagram into media.smwc just in case it randomly gets deleted?
E: nevermind (it's already saved on media.smwc), I mean it's hotlinking to carol's website, not the one that was saved on media.smwcentral, image link.Give thanks to RPG hacker for working on Asar.
