Making Custom Bosses

Link Thread Closed
I understand how to change the appearence of bosses but what I want to know is this: Is it possible to make custom bosses from scratch programmed to do whatever I want? I had a few ideas (E.g. Ridley from Metroid, etc.) but I have absolutely no idea where to begin. Please help!

It is possible to make custom bosses from scratch - lots of people have done this, actually. See custom sprites. Making something like Ridley is very very very unlikely. Plus, it doesn't make much sense.

[?] Miscellaneous Helpful Hints
If I moderated your hack, there was apparently a 90 percent chance it was rejected.
To make custom bosses, you need to learn spriting, which requires ASM knowledge. You better start off learning some ASM. Here is a good ASM tutorial:

And some advanced documentations:

You better start practicing ASM by creating custom blocks.
Hey how to you change the appearance of custom sprites?

you have a long way to go before you can even consider making custom bosses with advanced behaviour. now there have been several how-to-make-custom-boss threads so I'm updating the rules thread with ban warnings. the response to the question is always the same.
