Description: Alright I think I have fixed alot of errors but pm me if I missed some. And take this down if there are too many glitchs that are annoying or stuff. They do there job right, we just dont do the hacks right! lol.

Here's why

Cement blocks create cutoff in the water and ground.

The net in the top left extends for a long period of time. To eliminate that problem...

...just allow the player to reach the end of the screen here to exit the level.

The 'wall-jump blocks' have an ugly palette. Try experimenting and make a more fluid gradient.

Use corner tiles for the dirt.

The ground looks weird when it comes out of clouds and cement blocks.

The pipe 'floats'. Change the brown blocks to ground to eliminate this.

The bottom koopa was stuck in the cement blocks when I entered the room.

Insta-fail. The enemies were placed too low, and thus fell to their deaths.

You get to this area, with no clue on what to do. You seem to travel on this block for a long time...

...only to get to this. If you forget to bring the Pswitch, you can't get it, and it seems impossible to get without being small Mario. Also, I couldn't find a way back to land from here, and had to die.

Incorrect corner tiles.

Remove the muncher and ground to make this a pit.

Er...what's up with the triangles? Why are they even there?

*please
Also, "Yoshi got trapped!" seems incorrect to me. Perhaps using "Yoshi is trapped!" will be a better substituion.

Major slowdown here.

Shell-kicking-koopa spam.

Incorrect corner tiles.

Using the grass FG for an underwater section seems pretty odd to me.

So I got through your P-switch puzzle. I started swimming to the right....

...and ran out of time before reaching the end. That whole section had a few coins and a random structure made out of ? blocks. What's the point?

Anyway, I tried again. This isn't pictured, but I reached the end with about 20 seconds to spare...yet there wasn't a thing in sight!

Apparently, you're supposed to go down that yellow pipe. But the structure shown here is an arrow pointing to the right....but there is nothing there!

Blatant edit.

Get rid of the elbow tiles.

If this level is unfinished, don't let the player access it.

You have improved quite a bit since the last time I reviewed the hack, but you still have a way to go before this is fully polished. Just take some time to review over what I, as well as others, have said. Perhaps you can try a few hacks that are already on the site. They may give you some inspiration to break from your normal level design and make something unique. Also...

I'm glad that you realize that. We don't reject hacks because we enjoy rejecting other peoples work. (I don't at least.) While moderating hacks, we bring out some things that the player might have overlooked while proofreading. Also, when players test their hacks, they may have a different taste than those who have never played the hack before. That's our job...to help each hack shape into something the community can enjoy ;)

Your palletes seem pretty screwed up.

Wait... Mario? But we're Toad...

Glitched goal bar. Move it down a tile and adjust the blocks to be overlapping to cover it up.

Furthermore, the Rainbow Road level (not screengrabbed, sorry) is pretty poorly done. You have 23 seconds to sprint to the end whilst jumping over Bullet Bills (which often appear without a sound effect), but you must keep a shell kicked by a blue Koopa onscreen at all times or you won't be able to get through a 1-tile-tall passageway at the very end. If you go too fast at the start, you die. Simple as that. Also, this is level 2!

You have a decent start, but this needs lots more polish and balancing before I can accept it, sorry.

No you didn't. You only seemed to fix the name in the message box. There's still messed up palletes and a glitchy goalpost, and the Rainbow Road level's stupid gimmick is still present and accounted for.

Still not a screenshot!

Okay, let me take you through this. I assume you're using ZSNES.

1.) Press F1 during gameplay. A menu will pop up.
2.) Scroll down to the option that's something like "IMAGE FORMAT: BMP" and press enter, it should change to something like "IMAGE FORMAT: PNG"
3.) Scroll up to the option that's something like "SNAP SHOT" or "SCREENSHOT" or something, and choose it.
4.) In your ZSNES or ROM folder there should be a PNG file. Upload that.

I'll never know because this was submitted as a bad patch. Please read the FAQ to learn how to properly create an IPS patch, and please test your patch before you resubmit it. The ROM that the patch created was 652 KB - SNES ROMs should have sizes in even increments starting at 512 KB, then 1 MB, then 2 MB, then 4 MB and so on.

In any event, 2 levels is WAY too short for a hack. Try playing with Lunar Magic a few more weeks and create some more things.

[?] Miscellaneous Helpful Hints
If I moderated your hack, there was apparently a 90 percent chance it was rejected.

Hack Name: Mario in Iceland - 354.2 KB - 17 downloads.
Length: 6 levels
Author: Mawwo7 - Submitted by: Mawwo7
Description: It's a small hack but it's fun.

Here's why

Overworld looks very strange. You have a solid purple area above the left side, a solid peach area above the middle, and the land extends on the right. The solid areas look very odd, especially the purple, as it has a solid black line on the right hand side. Also, the edge tiles have dirt in the grooves...use the correct tiles.

The berries cause inconsistency in the tree.

As soon as I started the first level, I died!

When I start to hammer the jump button, Mario swims upward. Also, the sprite memory settings need to be fixed here, as the gray platforms are cutoff. You probably should get rid of some sprites, as the rotating platform consumes quite a bit of memory.

I'm going to have to stop moderation here. I'll test this again when you have fixed the water problem. Since, the way it is now, I can't judge the hack the way it's meant to be played. Unless you intended the player to swim through the sky...which is odd.

Description: A short little hack for you to TAS. This is a good hack to try your first tas. Not hard, but not too easy.

Kind of a weird way of editing the titlescreen. Try going all small letters, for consistency.

What the hell is this. Editing Level 104 with move-or-you're-dead start, stacked munchers and ugly palletes is double plus ungood.

Stacked bullet bill cannons don't look very good at all.

Oh, awesome, stacked munchers just after some blind jumping along koopas off the top of the screen. My life is complete.

Move-or-you're-dead level start, with bonus cutoff!

I understand what you mean this hack to be used for, and it has a place. That place, however, is not here. Read the Hack Submission Guidelines.

Name: Mario's Mountain Kingdom Quest Demo
Author: Darkrai
Description: Ok, so I think I fixed Everthing that the hack removal log mentioned. If I missed something, then, well, mention it.

Story: Peach has recived and Invitation from The mountain Kingdom's king, Higherupper, to come to the Annual Mountain Kingdom Festival. Little do they suspect that Bowser has intercepted the letter, using it to make a plan to kidnap the princess and take over both kingdoms. Thus, as Mario and Comp. arrive, they are ambushed by Koopas, leaving Mario and Luigi unconcious and the Princess Carried off. Now mario Must go through the Mountain kingdom, find koopas base, and save both the princess and the king, who has been turned into 7 cards. Can Mario save the Day?

This Demo goes up to the castle, and also note that I havn't thought of a good message for beating the castle, so it is unchanged.

This hack is pure Vanilla, so don't expect Fancy ExGFX!

The overworld path seems to have broken here, as I am seemingly unable to progress to the next level. If you fix this, I reckon we're looking at an accept.

Description: Here is an updated version of my hack (i deleted the glitched shy guy, fixed the glitchy goal point and i fixed the second level.) Enjoy!

The placement of the first level seems a bit awkward here.

Uh, why is there a Wiggler head for a goal sphere? There are no tileset specific sprites here, so a normal one should work fine. I noticed this in another level too.

It appears the fade fix patch wasn't used here. This happened in the rest of the levels as well.

The BG just cuts off in some areas. In the second case, I thought it was water, but fell in and died. D:

1. The submap loaded twice when I first entered it.
2. Occasionally, some odd layer 2 level tiles appeared when clearing a level. It could be that not all of SMW's events were removed.

The display message cleared the level, but I'm not sure what the "..." box is for.

---

Overall, this hack wasn't bad by any means. The quick, time-based levels were pretty good, and Toad was fun to play as. Just fix the fade fix issue, some OW oddities, and some BG cutoff, and you're good to go.

Lenght: 1 exits
Author: gameboy - Submitted by: gameboy
Description:
I fixed it by changing the munchers to hurt blocks.

Removal Reason(s):

I would say that this hack is a Kaizo with make-up. Alright, it DOES NOT have floating munchers in it, but instead, it DOES have weird brick blocks that act like Map16 tile 12F (in other words, there are blocks in it that act like MUNCHERS!), which I personally find rather weird. The main reason for its removal is, however, the fact that it is TOO hard - you see, we DO NOT accept Kaizos in the hack section, and this one, even though it MAY be a "mild" Kaizo, can be a little frustating to play through.

Try working out with the difficulty for it, if you really want it to earn its spot in the hacks section. Otherwise, I would suggest sharing it with the dudes from this topic, since most of them actually like playing hard hacks rather than the regular hacks found in the hacks section.

Here's Why

Do not die on the title screen! This causes the player to be stuck in the intro until they reset.

Unless I'm missing something, the player cannot pass the introductory message. It seems to me that you deleted the sprite that causes the message to be read.

Yeah...fix those things, and then we'll talk.

Here's Why

"his" should be "he's"
"rescure" should be "rescue"
There should also be a space after "Mario,"

Umm...yeah...the castle intro is all glitched up.

I assume you forgot to save your map 16 data here.

The BG is a little odd with the dark and light grays, and the bright red pillar really stands out...in a bad way.

I ran across this bridge without a second thought, only to find myself in the lava. Perhaps an info box would help.

The boss can kill himself. You may want to fix his platform.

*defeated
The flag looks strange...and why is the box gray?

I was curious on why the hack starts at the first castle...

...and then I realized that you placed Mario's sprite on the wrong tile. I was only able to play the castle level. Fix this, as well as the other errors, and hopefully we can do a full moderation.

Here's Why

You included a ROM in the zip file. Because of this, you are banned for 72 hours. ROM's are illegal, and we DO NOT host them on our site. What puzzled me is you also included an IPS in the zip file. However, when I tried to patch it to my ROM, I got an error and nothing played. I tried patching it to the ROM you provided out of curiosity, and the game froze after the title screen. Not sure what you did to cause this, but you may want to do your best and find the solution.
