Music Channel Question

Link Thread Closed
In levels, which channels use sound effects?
Also, which channels use sound effects in the overworld?
All that I know is the channels which use SFX (good for percussion) is 4, 6 and 7. Overworld? Might be the same.
It's 5, 6, 7, and 8

This is correct. #5 is fine to use without fearing it's going to cutoff, but anything in #4, #6, and #7 will get cutoff by sounds. Also, if you're using the ADSR command in those channels, when a sound effect interrupts it, the ADSR command will not return until another ADSR command is assigned/the song loops and the ADSR command is given again... so be particularly careful if you decide you want to make notes über-staccato using ADSR and merge rests with the notes because they'd just take up space in the ROM, for instance, because it could ruin the song ingame by extending those notes to play for their full duration rather than a split second then pausing. :s Likewise, do not put the melody channels as #4, #6, or #7.

Just look above you...
If it's something that can be stopped, then just try to stop it!
