Alright... Here It is... Me and Bantoleon would need someone to help us out with this hack (which is already started), but we wanted to get these ideas out.

Hack: GRAND THEFT MARIO
By: Yanamanka + Bantoleon


-WE ARE IN NEED OF SOMEONE WHO HAS SPECIAL SPRITE TOOL POWERS. Neither Bantoleon or I can get sprite tool to work. If someone would like to insert the sprites for us (or even better, show us how to), we'd be glad to give you credit.

-CREDITS. Yes, We know they exist. You must also know that they are an absolute PAIN to write up! Me and Bantoleon are compiling the credits, so if you see something we haven't credited you for, THAT IS WHY.

Grand theft Mario is rated T for teen. Rating are for mentionings of Pimps, drugs, and guns. Additionally, it is rated for overall themes. There aren't any swear words though.





PLOT:

-Tired of Living in poverty, Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi enter the drug and theft buisness, in hopes of making it big, and scoriong a lot.-

Well, In short, Grand theft Mario is the story of Mario, Luigi, and Yoshi's descent into the crimminal underworld of their world. Grand theft Mario is currently on Version 0.08. So, not everything is present. But, we can give you insight into what we currently have...

NEW GAMEPLAY MECHANICS
Grand Theft Mario introduces many new gameplay mechanics. Here, Me and Bantoleon have listed some of the most notable gameplay mechanics that are implemented. Ones that are still being constructed are listed in the GOALS section.


-Docks-
Well, As you might have noticed from some of the screenies, The Map has been changed. A LOT. One of the less-noticeable things about the map is the precense of specialized water levels. These levels, when beaten (which is not really that insanely hard), give you acess to new worlds via water travel.
However, there is a twist! Some docks only Mario may use, and Some docks only Luigi may use. Choosing which brother to play as will impact the missions and areas you are able to unlock!

-Missions and Free Play-
Missions and Free play coexist in the hack. Usually, Yoshi will give the player an optional mission (that will grab the player a large amount of currency) in a level. A fairly large amount of the rest of the level will then be free-form, or might even involve another mission. Always be on your guard for missions in areas, as they are often the way to acess more levels and worlds.

-The Safe House-
There is one in every world! Yoshi will supply you with a Safe House, which allows you to save. To save, you must simply touch the Smiley moon (soon to be changed to a floopy disk, like in GTA:VC) that is located inside of the safehouse. Each World has a differently themed safe house, so make sure you take a gander at Yoshi's decoration skills!

-New Shops-
Every World has its own Ammunation shoppe. (In the Demo, You cannot yet acess this). The Shops in each City are custom, as they carry different weapons that the Shop blocks do.

-New Powerups!-

OMFGLMAO!

There are New powerups in Grand Theft Mario, the most notable of which, is the Gun.

The Current Version of the Gun, fires off bullets with a distinct "CHING" sound, unlike the normal Fire Flower. The Gun also serves its uses to fly in a striaght line at a constant speed, so that you can better aim your shots.

The Cape replacement is the Baseball bat. However, your baseball bat is NOT and anti-gravity one. While you'll gain the ability to float while armed with it (as you do not have unnecessary amounts of ammo to weigh you down), you cannot fly with it.

However, There are a huge amount of changes scheduled for the gun, as listed in the Goals section.


GAMEPLAY GOALS
As with Every hack, we have certain goals that we would like to accomplish with our ideas. Note that these Goals are gameplay goals.

-Keeping Powerups-
Well, this is the simple idea of adding a health bar, and having Mario/Luigi keep their powerups even if they are hit. If they die though, they will revert back to normal Mario/Luigi.

-Ammo-
Yes, We'ed like to insert an Ammo system. The Ammo section would replace the coins area on the status bar. Additionally, The ammo section would be expanded to 3 digits, allowing for a total of 999 units of ammo. (More on this in the next sub-section.)

-Multiple Guns-
YES! Multiple guns to choose from! Overall, We'ed like to have a total of three guns; Pistols, Uzis, and SMGs. Each one of these guns will have a different rate of fire, will use up different ammounts of ammo, and will do different amounts of damage! In order to make the game more fair though, the strongest guns would only be available as you progress into the hack.

-Mario/Luigi Switching-
Using Mario/Luigi Blocks, The player can switch out as Mario or Luigi during gameplay. This becomes a huge factor, as some obstacles can only be reached by Luigi or Mario, making the player switch them up.
Another thing to note about using Mario and Luigi is that in the storyline, each brother goes to his own seperate world. Mario can only acess world 2 (until beaten), and Luigi can only acess world 3 (until beaten). Note that each of the brother's will meet up again in World 4.

-Currency System-
Instead of Coins being the curreny in Grand Theft Mario, Bonus Stars awarded for missions and level completion are the currency. (Note that getting 100 Bonus Stars will not trigger a bonus game. The Counter stops at 100). Bonus Stars are awarded for mission completion mainly.









Again, This is a Tema Hack. We're willing to have more people join if they want to join. Criticism is helpful, just don't be ridiculous!

Wow,this sure is a creative and unique idea o_O

The gun system seems great,the OW looks very nice,new graphics are awesome,and stuff like Free Roam and Missions really add a feel to it.

I only have one complaint: On the screens with the green platforms and orange cars,the status bar color is messed up.Please,try to change it.

Overall,this looks really nice :)

On the 27th screenshot, that orange & green note block's ewwww!
Thsi game looks sweet! Just one thing. I'm you should maybe change the gfx of the cloud and make it into a car. and then changed the gravity or something to the car making it drive like one. Then enable "run over enemies!" W00t, you could have a health bar for the car of course when it blows up, as in grand theft auto games, it will kill you.

Goo luck1 I'm looking forward to this game. If you thought this idea was somewhat great, well too bad. I can't give you my golden ideas. They are for Mario vs. Mouser

    The Pallete for Mulholand is very odd... I'm currently workign to change it so that the note blocks will look normal, but thanks for catching this.

    On another note, I did say that only certain areas would be accesible after certain missions were beaten. Just like in GTA, You have to play through the plot (Just a little) to get to new areas. Me and Bantoleon have been trying to pack a ridiculous amount of fun things to do in those stages you have available though. Most missions are optional by the way, except for a couple plot related ones.

    Since that was the BETA, not much was fixed... But thanks for telling me the errors!

    Ah Yes, I got that tutorial! Thank you so much! However, Me and Bantoleon are having Blocktool trouble (as we have a special surprise planned for this weekend's update).

    I HAVE taken a gander at it, and its very nice, and has step-by step ways of teaching us how to do it. I can't wait to be able to insert sprites!

    Yeah, like Yanamanka, this started as my first real hack. It had a simple story line about drugs and theft and pretty terrible gameplay XD. But, like any passing nub, I stopped hacking and I passed the idea onto Yanamanka who already started working on making it better. He transformed it into something complex, original, and all out addicting. Shooting the gun makes this game feel so much fun. There are times where all you would want to do is just shoot stuff. Now don't forget, there are some themes in this game that are not healthy for young children, like any GTA game. But props to Yanamanka for the incredible work. I suggested that he should make different type of guns. A gun that can fire quickly could be a machine gun and perhaps he can find more to do. Who knows? Maybe he'll even find the time to figure out how to make the koopa just lay still after it's shot.

    Anyway, the game is great. Just you guys wait and see. It's revolutionary.
