Alright, time to reply to this ShadowTiger style.
QuoteMaybe you can have his new move-set reflect the SMW setting...Like having him release giant fireballs, Fire Mario style. Or by summoning various enemies.
True. For the enemy summon, I'd imagine he'd snap his fingers and the enemies would blink or poof into existance above Mario. (Hmm, reminds me of Wham Bam Rock's attack from KSS.) Not a bad idea. The fireballs seem a tad more overused, but I could easily find a way to make it work and be unique...
QuotePerhaps lifting up a sprite and throw it at Mario. Could be anything. Koopa shell, fire ball, Bob-ombs, P-switch (Maybe the play area is made out of blocks which turn into coins), Footballs etc. You could possibly remove the lifting part and make him just charge or something to make it more simple.
It'd be funny if he picks it up with his index finger and thumb, like he's pinching it, wouldn't it? XD I imagine he might move off-screen, come back pinching a bomb, and drop it on Mario, or if not a bomb, yes a P-Switch, to alter the battlefield somehow. Good idea here, lots of ways I could go with this.
QuoteRock-paper-scissors!
AWESOME! I'd have to think of how to implement this though.
QuoteHow about... pounds the ground and causes pillars of flame to appear along the ground? Only one frame for that, and the already existing flame pillars. Maybe smoke effects from GFX00.
Hmm... Remember what I said about not necessarily making the Master Hand stay his normal form? With all these ideas, I'm starting to think I could make this guy into the "Magic Hand" instead of the Master Hand. Interesting... I want to see if I can go anywhere with this one.
Quote...Rock-Paper-Scissors? Random thought: base the move set on that?
Too limiting. Good idea, but yeah, too limiting.
QuoteFirstly, did you think how you will set the way that Mario can kill it? Throwable items, the standard jumping, or even a bit unused, fireballs, but not recomendable because you can easily lose the fireball power. EXCEPT if you use a always-fire power generator plus Health Bar, then it won't be a problem.
Good question. I was going to implement all three. Item-hits would be as strong as three jump attacks, fireballs would be equal to half a jump attack.
QuoteThe only "attack" move I can think off works more or less this: He goes to one side of Mario (Following him vertically, or not) and starts summoning either Bowser's Statue Fireballs or even Ludwig's Fireballs in the opposite direction where it is, trying to hit mario.
There's a problem with the Ludwig Fireballs though; they take up lots of tile space. I was just going to make all of his projectile attacks custom sprites, with the exception of Extended Sprites of course.
Proper Edit:
QuoteI'd say an interesting idea would give him a pencil (or similar object) and use it as a sword. I did that all the time as a kid when I was bored.
You did, eh? XD Nice. I'll consider it. It would definitely make for the uniqueness effect I'd like, but I'd have to base his whole moveset on that, and the graphics routine will be a pain.
Now that I've had my sleep, I'll get a sheet worked out listing all the attacks I'll add.
Improper Edit: After thinking about it, it'd make sense to call this Master Hand sprite something besides Master Hand, since he'll have new attacks. We could say the Master Hand, Crazy Hand and this Hand are all related or whatever. XD But what to call it? That's the question. And not Magic Hand either, I want to try sounding less specialized-sounding.
It's me!!
