I haven't played most of these kaizo hacks, but I bet half of them have either stacked + floating munchers, glitched graphics, and kaizo traps.
They do indeed, which is rather unpleasent. It's also the reason why my kaizo-lite hack has custom GFX, no glitched graphics and it does have a few kaizo traps but really obscure one's that make you think and aren't just about timing and luck.

My hack doesn't have stacked munchers, graphical glitches except for some bouncing note blocks in the castle which is a part of the level I don't feel like redesigning nor removing the eerie and fishing boo to fix. It has custom music, ExGFX, custom blocks and custom sprites. It's a well done Kaizo lite hack.
I personally don't think "it being kaizo" is an excuse to be lazy and be half-assed about the design or look.
Well, at least kaizo did not have glitched graphics. Although you should know that none of my hacks (except for CT&QK) had never had stacked munchers. Floating yes (unless you count munchers under a surface)
Right now, I am making my hack very easy (comparted to my other hacks) possibly the same difficulty as Kaizo. A little harder than cool or cruel (skill-like, not puzzle-type). I am trying to make the hack playable without slowdown as well so it's fun, not aggravating.
This hack includes (will include)
Custom GFX I made
A bonus Special World
Look at this 8 year-old layout that I should probably update.
Has anyone ever played Super Mario Bros World? It's a super mario bros styled Kaizo with SMB graphics but SMW engine. I'm only on the first level, but so far it is at least slightly harder than Kaizo itself. Can be downloaded here http://takamo.michikusa.jp/mario/smbw/smbw.html
It's in Japanese I think but you'll figure it out.
