The next level:

Bet you can't guess what level in Kaizo 2 inspired this monster. Also, I have tried staying on the rope. Mario dies before hitting the wall, so that part checks out. What do you guys think?

Every single level I will ever make in SMM2 will be easier than Ultra Necrozma.
nice level though there are a few problems with it. first off, kaizo was much faster. this has a lot of area's where you have breaks and arent doing any thing. also, if i remember correctly, kaizo never user shell jumps... also, at 1:08 you lose a shell that you could have kept. probably making it possible to not have to die, but im not sure.

I haven't tried shell jumping down below where the midway point is to not have to die, but it doesn't look possible to me. I don't know, but even if it is, it may not be a huge skip. Since this is only a WIP right now, some things may be slightly different in the end.#w{>=)} For example, I'm not really happy with 0:40, but I am keeping the shell jumps. I tend to look at the big picture.

Hey guys, level 3 of my kaizo hack is like 1/4 done and level 4 is still being mapped out (got a few custom blocks to insert for it, but i started like the first few screens. i also have an idea for the final level, but i need your guys' opinions. since this hack is made to be played with tools, however so far everything is possible without them (other than savestates.) is it fair if i make the player use frame advance? the trick i have in mind is very easy, however it requires frame advance to pull off.

also, shadow raper, teh level reminds me of makjang :P

It was meant to :P
I was trying to revamp my own version of makjang 3 and tubular 2 (the kaizo levels that have inspired me the most)

I think focus frame advance in a kaizo hack should be avoid at all cost, but tricking the playing thinking he can break a part of your hack, by using frame advance, ends up getting the player screwed. For example, wall-jumping to get a 3-up moon but ends up getting the player trap (it shouldn't be that obvious of course).

ugh, i hadnt wanted to tell you guys wat it is, but ill tell you anyways. it was an infinite air catch, because it fits the theme of the last level perfectly. it is very simple, and the way i have it, theres nothing to break with it. also, im no noob. i dont use f*cking childish moons. nor do i make like any traps, because those usually just make a level breakable...

"shadow raper"? you're doing it wrong.

ontopic, uhh, see if you can stay away from frame-advance: not everyone plays to TAS. if it's absolutely too good to leave out, at least make an alternate version of the level to put it into, or group it (it referring to any other frame-advance shenanigans you may dream up) all in a bonus level or something.

well you see, this hack is meant to be played with slowdown and savestates. thus when the game progresses it should get harder, and since there is only gonna be 6 maybe levels, i dont see why not, other than people disliking the idea. also, kaizo isnt really a good name for it. its meant to be like wot difficulty, or at least wat i think wot difficulty is by looking at vids cuz i have never played it myself.

First off something minor: I don't think the key is needed.
Then the big picture: Wow! Apart from the friggin time limit I'm really looking forward to play this! I really can't judge it from just a video, it looks amazing!

@SoulJester726: Unless it's SUPER-ULTRA obvious it seems unreasonable to demand frame advance, isn't it possible to use a custom block or the likes to make it doable for humans?

im not sure how to get the pswitch without that key though?
also the time limit was completely by accident I was ment to make it go back to 300 on that room... but as you can see it is not needed :)

Well, I'm 90% sure that as it is right now I'll need to redo the entire level once I get close to the exit as the time limit will kill me... I suggest changing it a bit.

Also for getting the Pow: can't you simply stand on the happy cloud two tiles below it and jump up...?

Also I just noticed the shelljump at around 3:24-3:26 is possible without the shell.

I suspect there to be more breaks, but as mentioned before it's a tad hard to find them from just a video.
Also I don't arise from the dead just that often, you know.

@SD: The shelljump can't be done without the shell... You have no idea how much I tried ;_; (the shell was originally part of a trap later on but i had to take it out and edit the footage)
And yeah i see how to get the P now... Also you can grab some items through the cloud... like the key. Altjhough I'm not sure if you can do it with the pswitch?
anyways the demo will be released at C3 and shortly after that ill start sending copies with 1 or 2 levels of world 2 to mai testers :P

I don't think it's possible to grab a Pswitch through a cloud.

Also I'm not going to believe you and think that the jump IS possible, as I just made that jump in a testlevel.

Other than a free mushroom at the goal tape I don't see how it could break anything, indeed. But perhaps a free mushroom might cause problems in the next level.
