Wow man, you really put a lot of work and thought into this. The rosters up to the '92 season are all completely spot on as far as I have played.

I signed up just to say thanks for this because my friends and I have been looking for something like this since like... 2007.
hello

been waiting for this kinda of stuff since 1994!!

cant fucking wait for the final release!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks
Bump, with an update:
EDIT: Seeing as YouTube embeds no longer work, here's a link:
NBA Jam Old-School Edition (SNES hack): End of Quarter Music

Copied from Youtube Video Description
This new "between quarters" music track is the latest change I've made to NBA Jam Old-School Edition. It is based on the music used for the same purpose in the arcade version of NBA Jam.

You can get the SPC and MP3 files of the new track at the following links:
NBA Jam Old-School Edition - End of Quarter.spc

--------------------
Matrizzle, do you have any kind of Tutorial to hack NBA Jam TE? what block of hex is for changing attributes??

--------------------
Your layout has been removed.
I've posted the majority of the information related to players here and here and here. These addresses are for the NBA Jam Tournament Edition (U) ROM without a header, and are in SNES format(meaning you'll have to use a program such as Lunar Address to convert them to PC format).

--------------------
Just posting to say that another demo version has been released. Check the first post for more information, and the download link.

I'll post some screenshots a video at a time more reasonable than 2:00 AM.

However, I will take the time to bring this up again.

Remember this mysterious picture from my Spring 2010 SMWC3 thread?

Well, this is one of the 10 secret players in the new demo!

--------------------
Just uploaded a new video to YouTube which includes all of the remaining characters in the demo, as well as the initials and button combos for unlocking them:
Special Guests (Part 2)

Parts 1 and 2 combined cover all of the secret players in the demo.

--------------------
Can people join this project and learn how you are doing it?
I have some faces of ballers I would love to learn how to put these in game.
This tutorial will show you how I do it:

NBA Jam Tournament Edition: Player Portrait Replacement Tutorial

I cannot say this will be easy, though.

--------------------
Any new progress here?

--------------------
If anyone needs help with custom Character GFX,PM me.
<Note> You will have to have a progress thread in order for me to work on GFX for you.No random requests.
I will disclose more information when progress is made. Nothing has been said because work on the hack has been minimal since the last demo release. Most of the things I have done are related to a single secret player, and haven't been implemented in the game yet. My college semester hasn't ended just yet, and with my free time, I've been working on other smaller hacking projects. I just haven't felt like working on this one lately. It may be time to start putting some of the planned features on the chopping block...

--------------------
Astronomical bump incoming!

After nearly 8 years on hiatus, and ten years since the latest demo (see the first post in this thread), work is again underway on NBA Jam Old-School Edition! With new changes being made over the past few months, I figured now was a good time to show some screenshots.

More alterations to the title screen, redoing the Old-School Edition part of the logo in a larger font, removing Acclaim (for the awful, uninspired sequels they made after swiping the license to the "NBA Jam" name from Midway), and adding a bit of detail to the wooden frame.

Added one screen to the attract mode rotation which only appears in the arcade version...

...and another one exclusive to the Sega CD and arcade versions:

Kerri Hoskins and Lorraine Olivia have also been ported from the arcade version of this screen, where there was previously a generic NBA Jam-patterned background:

Also, a bit of a shameless plug, but I suggest that you try out eskayelle's newest roster update, NBA Jam 2k22 - Tournament Edition. I collaborated with eskayelle on this hack, and many of the changes made for it were possible because I first coded them for Old-School Edition.
