Can someone try One Island? It's probably not that good though. there's 9 exits and I'm sorry if its too many, but to get to the last 4 secret exits you need the switch palaces, which i hear were really overused lol.
Wow, Im good at finding glitches. I have fixed the most of those that I found, but there is still some minor that I cant fix.
Here a link to the newest (and probably the last) version:
http://bin.smwcentral.net/713 (trip to yoshi's house)fixed v2
(it's not the same one that's in the list)
I really like this level. Its original and I haven't seen anyone that have used ideas like this one. Does someone want to try it?
Hope it will get a good score.
The others levels looks really good. If someone would make a big hack of all the levels, I would love it.
BTW
Are you going to give out many prizes like for example: most original, most good looking, best replay value...

This is a really fun contest. I like that there's only vanilla hacks allowed.
Hope that there's one next year too.

I played your level Spacefan645 it was really good. Although at some points it's really hard to figure out where to use a p switch. I loved the palettes.

Aha. Thanks. That's perfect. And that's why I love designing puzzle levels.

:)
Anyone tried my level yet? I haven't really gotten any comments except from the people who beta tested it.
should I continue with My first hack after this contest is over ?

--------------------

I think you should continue with Super Mario Unleashed, Dayton.

I am. you know what, you just gave me an idea of how im going to bring this level back. Im going to put it on SMU !

--------------------

Okay, I finally finished yoshicookiezeus' Déjà Vu Tower. Here's the Word Document with pictures.

Now for SpaceFan645's Mirage Mansion, which I, again, thank you sincerely for the IPS.

Then Supertails' Click Clock Wood.

Then X-King's Prison Break.

Then Liru's Mt. Vesuvi Goldmine.

Then Objection!!!/RedBoner's Traveller's World.

Then Amileia Kazeirassaida/imamelia's Failure of an Epic.

Then uNkNowNeRRoR5642's Hilltop House.

Then Lespna1's Mystical P-Switches. Is the one at the beginning of this thread the latest version?

Then PercentN's One Island.

Then hej100's Trip to Yoshi's House. Yes, that's the fixed version. A compilation hack is impossible due to the switch palaces used.

Then Lucas' New Dinosaur Island.

can someone give feedback to my level?

http://bin.smwcentral.net/602

also, don't think to get bonus: you have 999 time for finish the level and the level is long and without midway entrace

Watch, i made a Super Mario 64 level
Use this IPS for my level instead, since FP didn't update the links when I reuploaded my IPS.
Thanks for the criticism! Now, for your questions:
- The sideways munchers was created by just rotating the muncher graphics 90 degrees in YY-CHR, and then ExAnimating them.
- The computer screens are made by copying the SMW default font into an ExGFX file (luckily, they change to 4bpp when copied into a 4bpp file), and then using the climbing net tiles for the outlines.
- Same thing for the castle cutscene room, though it was a bit easier: I didn't even have to create an ExGFX file for those graphics, just load the GFX file containing them into SP3 and create the 16x16 tiles.
- The flashing lights in the background after the self destruction sequence is activated are actually the big OW level tiles, with an ExAnimated palette.
- The reason the midway point is at the airship part is because the switch palaces kind of act like check points, so it wasn't needed during the normal exit.
- And since the midway entrance has to be in the same room as the main entrance, it ended up a bit odd, as you noticed.

Oh, and for the blue switch palace: didn't you notice that the coins at the end form big warning signs?

@Ultimaximus: I see you complained about a sprite in Deja Vu Tower glitching on the top of the screen, that happens once in my level, but I've seen it happen in every other hack with a situation like that.

Just a heads-up.
@yoshicookiezeus: Isn't YY-CHR forbidden?
And does this look like a warning sign?

It kind of does, but when it is scrolling by really fast, it's hard to tell.

@SpaceFan645: Yeah, I've seen that in other hacks as well. Perhaps it's unfixable. And no, I was not complaining, I was merely pointing out an error.

Oh, and here's The Pit v1.1. Changes in the readme. I wonder when FP will update the links, or if someone will have to PM him with the links to all the updates.

This is mostly for my own reference.

@Ultimaximus: Graphics editing is allowed, if it's original SMW graphics. At least that's what I think. Also, yes, I didn't mean that you were complaining, I was just pointing it out.

Also, glad to know mine's next. Looking forward to it!

Yes, I think it is the latest one? I updated it before I sent it.
Please forgive me for this but I just wanted to fix a major error in my level (and to make it downloadable to everyone who doesn't have winRAR)

http://bin.smwcentral.net/730

Please accept it

I wonder what a HFD opcode would do in ASM...

Video

Link to the video showing all the contest levels, just in case some people didn't see it, made by Snifit, just happened to have the link, no idea how to embed it or whatever you call it.

link: Chronus Caverns (I believe Chronus is spelt wrong but oh well).

edit: And great video Snifit. There are a lot of great levels in that video/this contest, now I just got to play them all (my level is from 4:34-4:37)

Old post before rollback

Red Tales: [Insert Subtitle here]: Hack is being worked on (actually being worked on), demo next c3 (summer 2022) hopefully
Levels Complete: 5/50+

I'll embed it:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2eyNBeMDcl0&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2eyNBeMDcl0&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Snifit, that's awesome. It's nice to see all the hacks in a tribute video. That's going in my user bio, and it should be on the first post of the judging results.

Well, I'll put up the reviews that got deleted, except for SpaceFan645's, as he got to see it.

Then Delmaru's Split Paths.

I'm not sure if I can do all these before the judging period ends, but since some of you will be putting these in your hacks, I'll make sure to do every one of these. That's my job as a beta tester/hack reviewer.

Aren’t there appropriate tiles for connecting the ground with the walls that you could use? If so, fix, as its present everywhere.

There is no inside corner tiles for the forest tileset as far as I know, and the ground isn't cutoff anyways :P
