Canyon BG. Disabled Layer 1 for better view. The waterfall is animated.



Desert BG. This takes up more than 1 GFX file, so it took me a while to configure it.
Those are like, one of the best background graphics I've seen in a hack. Seriously, you're making wonderful backgrounds and the style of them really appeals me. Really looking forward to the next demo of your hack :)



I made an intro similar to the one in Paper Mario and the Koopa at the mailbox is (supposed to be) Parakarry. LunarDrake made the exterior house graphics, and they look pretty nice.

I wanted to make it rotate diagonally, but I can't make diagonal muncher graphics.
While I'm not too fond of the muncher meme, I have to say that is a pretty nice idea. Should add some challenge and action to more boring levels.
By the way, here is a muncher spritesheet that anonimato made. It's what I used for my "Animuncher" as well.






 


Here's that new palette I was talking about. You'll also notice various touch-ups around the board, such as changing the bridge (which shares a palette with the now-snowy ground) to a "transitional" overhang and removing cutoffness.
Looks very nice!
Midna: the palettes and majority of the OW look nicely done, but the area near the top where the grass and ice form a bridge looks incredibly awkward to me (especially the space below it...)

Well, it was the best I could do... Maybe I can change it back into an ordinary bridge with some more palette modifications.
I don't really like the overworld, its just so bland. The cliffs are so high, and look really empty, you could make them much shorter.
And I agree with An00bis, the space below the "bridge" does look really akward.

And where are the level tiles? Do you still have to add everything?

Wow, did you make those gfx yourself?

Anyway, I was making the OW for my new hack and I put in a waterfall, but it looked odd, even though it was, for all intents and purposes, identical to the original. Then I got a good idea. Why not make it a little more accurate to a real water fall, and on a real waterfall, there are rapids and such before the waterfall, instead of calm water. I ended up with this:


Ignore the highlighted cheep-cheep, and cutoff.

What do you guys think?

No, I'm not THAT talented.
Is a combination of DTG/icegoom's Castle tileset and ibz10g's Alternate Mario World Castle Tileset.
As for the BG, is a Sonikku's rip of Sonic 1, Labyrinth Zone.

Might as well post this here, as I don't think it deserves a bump of my hack thread:



A new font and a new map for Pokey's Adventure. The font is based on the one used in the first demo (Yep, it's the one I submitted to SMWC), and the overworld was made with the help of Terra Stripe and Alcaro.

Feedback would be appreciated. :)

Here's some gameplay footage of some of the WIP levels I'm working on.
It first shows level 5-1, a level made of clouds. I pretty much JUST found out you can take BG GFX in the Map16 editor and paste them on the FG Map16 pages, so I abused that, and they also have layer priority. You can walk through the sides of these fluffy clouds, but you can stand on top. I also made shroom copies that act like slopes, like in NSMB.
Then, it shows some updated gameplay footage of Midnight Mountain. It shows a different area than last time, and another Map16 abused thing I made: trees! Basically, I took bush 8x8 tiles and created tree looking objects, then palette edited the level so that the dark part of bushes are brown, and light parts are just green. These trees take up a heaping 10 tiles, but that's okay, I haven't even used up half a page, yet. The palette makes small bushes a bit odd, but they still look good. Again, this new music is NOT a port, just added for effect.
Last, an outdated view of one of the secret levels of world 5, Storm Cloud Clamber. I made the clouds dark, and this level has grassland tiles! It also has Sumo Bros on the clouds, and when they stomp, lightning! A good storm effect, sort of one of my jokes.

That is most likely the worst rendition of Lockjaw's Saga I have ever heard ported.

Aside from that, the level plays out pretty decently. Kirby's frames are also surprisingly smooth, and I'm liking his "falling" animation.

its a great song coice, but not a good one, I dont know, if anyone wants to make a better one then go ahead...
