Originally posted by Red ChameleonVery shocking on what happened. The egg joke for placement was rather funny...until I heard Kyo was involved. I was actually upset, mad, and confused on why Kyo would even do such a thing. She had been devoted to the site and always fixing things up, and then makes an attack? Why? I don't know. If Kyo is reading this in any way possible (if being a guest with no account works while IP banned), I thought what Kyo did was stupid and moronic, and nevver should have done anything against the site. She was a nice user, and then this...
And some others may have been expected, but I barely even knew a few of them. So...yeah.
Who knows what Kyoseron's motivation was besides Kyoseron herself? I can only imagine that for some reason she thought that trying to destroy the site was a good idea at the time. I can't say for sure if she'll laugh maniacally for the rest of her life, if she'll eventually feel bad about it, or if she already does.
I don't know what would drive a person to decide to try and take down something they worked so hard on. Kind of like spending a year making a building and then blowing it up. Except there are lots of people inside too. Maybe it's entertaining for you to watch it burn, but it's one of the most selfish things I've ever heard of. It takes a certain kind of person to put their own amusement over the interests of hundreds of other people.
If it was a personal grudge on a single person, that still leaves the other members on the site who suffered because of a personal vendetta. I can't say for sure what was going through Kyoseron's mind. Maybe she finds amusement in watching other people suffer like Arbe does. Or honestly believes that she's a diamond in the rough and is one of the only people that Arbe won't eventually manipulate and then cast aside. Maybe she's a fangirl who thinks Arbe's "cool" and is trying to be just like him. I just hope the effort she put into inconveniencing the site was worth being banned from an entire community and losing a lot of friends. Or maybe she never liked any of us to begin with and finds that last sentence utterly hilarious.
I hope the attackers also realize they put hours of work into "taking down" the site which was only a minor effort for Boom to submit a rollback for. In the end, there was some backing up and resubmitting, but nothing of value was lost.
Considering someone (I won't name any names, but they weren't on staff or endorsed by staff) managed to counterattack and take down the server that the information was being sent to, I'd wager the attackers lost more than we did. Maybe some of them will disagree, but I don't care. We can compare missiles all day long, but I do know we had a ton of fun screwing around before the reset. So thanks for the entertainment, Arbe and company.
