Ultimate SMB Base Hack Projects

Considering the feedback, I decided to make a thread.

This is my latest project: Hacks based around SMB1, SMB2, and SMB3.
One thing that bugged me is many base hacks aren't really close to being like the actual game. I want to aim at making a base hack that feels like you are playing the updated versions. The levels will be molded from the original game levels.

I will also be updating the out to date videos I posted.
Firstly, pelase fix Small Mario's walking frames. i see this all the time with SMB3 Mario graphics... he looks like he's skipping.

just move the second frame down 1 pixel. it looks like you're cutting away the bottom row of pixels, but trust me it looks way better in-game.

Anyways, I assume you didn't make the Spiny GFX yet, because it's just a moving egg right now.

Oh, it actually is the green unhatched eggs from the exact same level. The only problem is they don't bounce around, but I plan to change around the ASM code.

Alright, I updated the desert level. I made the blocks like in SMA4.

I also know about the ears missing from the leaf powerup, I am working on that.
In a few days, I hope to tie up the loose ends of the hack.

Hmm... why was the fire snake between the two pink pipe structures the normal SMW one, while all the other ones were of the SMB3 variety?

I will admit it is colored like the SMW one, but drawn like the SMB3 one. I am going to add more red to the sprite.Working on something!

No, I meant why was it the SMW one that leaves small flames behind it on the ground? All other fire snakes in the level are the SMB3 ones that just hop around without leaving flames...

Ah, I am also SMB3-izing the SMW enemies. So that if people want to use the actual SMW sprites, they have the option.

Edit: The palette now matches the SMB3 one.
