It's a not a VIP hack though, it's done by one person and it uses different ASM, ExGFX, Sprites etc.
On another note does anyone know where this BG is from or whether it's custom?

We should have a forum translating any Japanese hack requests like Kaizo Mario World.
Indeed, that would be a rather good idea as alot of these "quirky" japanese hacks have secret exits that need you to do a certain thing that wouldn't be possible to find/do without actually reading the message blocks.
