My first hack called Super Mario World - Island Quest

Story: After rescuring Peach from Bowser, they ended up being attacked by Bowser while on a hot-air balloon en route towards the Mushroom Kingdom and Bowser takes her while Mario crash lands into a unknown Island. After recovering Mario founds out that he's on the Flower Islands a place where Toads and Yoshis inhabit and it's between the Mushroom Kingdom and Dinosaur Land, however, the Island is slowly dying and withering due to Bowser's plans again. Can Mario rescue Peach, save the Island, and return home?

Expect updates and fixes and a better hack later. I'm more focused on level design than GFX, custom music, and a little ASM.

Screenshot 4: Thwomp has Sprite Memory Issues, Please use "No More Sprite Tile Limits".

Screenshot 6 and 7: Please remove the candle flames on backgrounds.

I'm sorry, but I'm not good at SMW hacking, so I gave up on it. That means I'm leaving SMWCentral. Bye!
If you don't mind me saying...in the last two screen shots (Of the castle and the wiring/cage/mesh/etc, it's too hard to see where you can climb, and as for the Cape Mario in the last screen shot, is he walking or floating? If he's walking, you might want to bump up the ledge up a level.

Other than that, looks interesting.
I think this is a Kaizo-esque hack.
I'm not sure it will be approved since it goes against a bunch of rules.
It does indeed look interesting, but be sure to check out the rules.

Well, if the ledge is that low, you might want to move it up one tile, because that will look like a hole even without the title screen border...

No, Mario doesn't die in the title screen intro, he's about to duck against the firing bullet bills. ANd to answer Chelf's question, he's floating down, I didn't pause the game in time to take a screenshot so that's how come it looks like he's walking in the last screenshot.

For the second screen shot though, is he still floating? If not, I'd try to move up the land one level. Otherwise, players cannot see where to land.

The hole in the net around the big spike looks very bad. Since that is a Layer 2 level and Layer 2 seems to be stationary, why not put the spike on Layer 1 and the net on Layer 2 or vice-versa?

No, he's standing, but yeah I should move it up but wouldn;t seem rather closee to the 2nd spike? I don't have the layer 3 smash on for a reason.

Another update: It looks and plays WAAAYYYYY better.








In the 1st pic I got rid of the wire around the spike, where it used to be and is not an ugly mess anymore and I adding some falling spikes too for challenge.

It's better than a blind jump. Do you have any other screen shots besides the castle?

It is better than it was, but it could still be improved a bit. On the right net in the first picture, the top edge suddenly breaks off behind the spikes, and on the left, you're missing the top net corner tile.
