Let me start by saying that I am extremely impressed. Almost every submission was fantastic - seriously. I didn't expect there to be this many awesome ones. Of course, there were still a few that were .. less than desirable, but for the most part, awesome!
Special thanks to MatthewPZC/pikaguy900/Sonic for judging as well. He did an excellent job, and judged with an iron fist. Kudos.
It was tough to pick a winner for this, but in the end, here is what we have decided.
OVERWORLD WINNERS:
A Yoshi: 79/80
InvisibleCoinBlock: 77.5/80
Lunatic Wolf: 76/80
Thank you to all of those who submitted an overworld or submap. They were a pleasure to play. I hope to see these used in your future hacks!
(if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please ask. Also, if you sent me an overworld after the due date, then chances are it wasn't accepted as judging had already commenced. We apologize for any inconvenience.) Tag (font) was not closed. Tag (font) was not closed. Tag (font) was not closed. Tag (font) was not closed. Tag (font) was not closed. Tag (font) was not closed. I kinda wish I'd completed mine, but even if I had it wouldn't have held a candle to the ones that took the top prizes.
Is there any chance that there will be either pictures or a youtube video showing all the entrants? That should be relatively easy for a contest like this.
Congratulations to everyone who entered, especially to those who won.
I wasn't really surprised my overworld isn't in the top 3, but I didn't expect my submaps to come in second. (No wonder though, with this few entries...)
Oh, and will there be trophies or special badges for it, like in the Ghost House Contest? Just curious.
I might put a compilation of pictures together for it - of course, that probably wouldn't be for a little while, but eh.
As for the trophies .. I didn't intend to whip up anything fancy, but if there is interest in it, I might make a small badge for it. Otherwise, it will just be trophies.
Well, I didn't do quite as good as I expected I would, but I'm still proud of myself. I guess there was some more that I should've done before submitting my entry. Though, I guess it's good to know which areas I could improve on.
I was kinda disappointed Jimmy didn't win, I thought his was fantastic, but at the same time I'm a sucker for ASM. And even so, A Yoshi deserved to win. That was a beautiful overworld. If they won, they did deserve it.
...But on a more serious note, congrats to all the winners! I wish I could have entered like I said I would, but I had too much going on at the time -.-
