Yeah. So, I decided to start on a hack *again*. Yep. Yesterday. I don't know what drove me, but I decided to do it anyway.
I'm not far yet, but I'm doing it anyway. Okay, so the plot... the plot? Oh yeah, just another cliché. Bowser kidnapped Peach and her guardian Toad, and the Koopalings took care of Luigi and a bunch of other Toads. Mario has to rescue them blah blah. But Bowser has come with a new armada of new enemies and villains, some of which are well known, and some of which are new, of which there is one... mysterious one.
So anyway, I'm probably planning to divide it in 6 parts. I won't tell which bosses appear in which world, but I can tell the main themes. There will be a bunch of new custom bosses. I'm not excluding custom sprites and ASM hacks either. I'll probably hold down on the custom blocks for a bit.
World 1 - Pit Caverns (Cave/Grass)
World 2 - Gruesome Grassland (Grass/Ghost)
World 3 - Dry Dry Seaside (Grass/Desert/Ocean)
World 4 - A Sky so Dark (Island/Volcano/Sky/Dark)
World 5 - Canadu's Backyard (Forest/Ice/Dark)
World 6 - Far Away Land (Dark)
I'll probably include the 24 hour clock and actually use it for stuff in this hack.
Anyway, the past 24 hours I've been focusing on level design and this is where I am at now:
Bushy Wasteland

Start of a cave, you can still see the sky and the bushes in the background.

Layer 1 auto-scroll + static Layer 2 = fun!

Mess with P-Switches.

Your classical Blue Koopa + shell combo.

Who can jump highest?

Oh yeah, forgot to mention. There are a lot of hidden (bonus) rooms. You'll probably be able to access one of them, but can you access them all?
I know, it looks kind of boring, but I'll spice it up. I'll make pictures of the OW later.
