It supports 16-color PNGs, and 4BPP BGs in ZSNES savestates (even multi-palette BGs).
You will most likely want to read the instructions. You can find a link to them on that page.
The primary reason I made this is because ripping BGs that contain lots of tiles with m16-7k takes forever. It can sometimes take hours just to rip one BG. Another reason is because m16-7k can't rip any BGs bigger than 256x256 (a pcx2sopt limitation)
I put in support for overwriting sprite GFX for those who use Alcaro's VRAM Rearrangement patch.
If you have any bug reports or feature requests, feel free to PM me or post them here, assuming the feature requests are reasonable.
Many BGs out there that are bigger than 256x256 use too many map16 tiles and cannot be ripped with this, but I may decide to come out with a patch that bypasses map16 pages and uploads an 8x8 tilemap stored in the ROM (for specific levels), and make a modified version of this tool for that.
You may run into errors that say "Zero Sized Reply", that's a problem with my web host. Just keep refreshing until they go away.
I just had a little go and somethings gone a bit wrong, I've never used M16-7K before so I didn't know what to do so I chose random tiles and it kinda worked but some fucked up.

Actually, there's no particular order necessarily, but you will usually want to start out with BG1. Then I usually overwrite most of the tiles in FG2 before going to FG1. Just select the tiles for objects you won't be using in that level.
Alright, I'm a bit of a noob but how do I know which tiles are BG1 and which ones are the FG ones?
Edit: I got it to work but I overwrote stuff I needed like land etc I'll need to keep practising.

how do I know which tiles are BG1 and which ones are the FG ones?
In the first "square" of 8x8s, the first 8 rows are FG1 and the second 8 rows are FG2.
In the second square of 8x8s, the first 8 rows are BG1 and the second are FG3
In the third square, the first 8 rows are SP1 and the second SP2
In the fourth square, the first 8 rows are SP3 and the second SP4
Also, I'm curious: What game does that BG come from?

Cheers, that's a big help.
It comes from a obscure and unknown game called "Nangoku Syonen Papuwa Kun" which is a pity as it has some rather epic backgrounds.

Will you release the source code of this tool?
If so, it would be awesome. Currently I'm trying to learn PHP for ROMHacking stuff, but am not making any progress. The source code would work like a reference. (Besides, the online tools has the source code too).
