joke!ahh i enter.but i'm bad at making kaizo levels.don't expect to hard from me.just jet.
Question.

My level consists of many 1 to 2 screen rooms. sort of like the castle in kaizo 1. It does go on for a while but it's A LOT shorter than item abuse. Would you frown upon the fact that it's a bit longer than others?

It does have new ideas that most kaizo hacks have never seen before. And constant utilization of the map16 tile editor.

Actually, I'd like to know about that 'can very timimg intensive things like throwing a key to go in a pipe' rule, if it'll get you disqualified or not. Because I might play around with my thing I did back when we where having a 'collab final level' for the hard level pack.
My kaizo hack is done. it contains 6 kaizo levels. i personaly think the castle is the hardest because.... you'll figure it out >:3

@zildjian That sounds fine. It can have length, just don't go overboard.

@raocow Just don't go too crazy. After all, the difficulty rating is so that it's not too easy but not like "Hey let's juggle 4 items while being shot at by Bullet Bills repeatedly immediately followed by two walljumps and keyjumping" sort of deal. And FUN is also 5 points, and I don't think going overboard on difficulty will constitute as having fun.

Well then I don't have to worry. I feel sorry for this "danegai" though...

OK, misspellings aside, remember: try to make it appealing. So you might want to call the Gordo Farm instead of the muncher farm or something.

Oh, and I'm not going to download any of the levels until judging time (probably), so make sure to test your patches and that everything works before the deadline. You wouldn't want to be disqualified just because you made the IPS patch incorrectly.

You obviously don't know who I am comrade. Go look up Pandemonium Fortress 2 and then think about what kind of work I do.

Now, might as well ask a question, would you fine judges like a like of external resources used (music list, ExGFX list, etc.) or are you happy with just guessing?

I didn't know you finished the game; I only played the demo. It was pretty hard... And now I get what you were hinting at. =-[

Some people want credit if you use their stuff, so it's best that you do. Just make a readme and compress it with the IPS patch.

Currently making a SMW rom hack with 7 worlds. Hope to finish it soon.

Oh, you guys mentionned opening the level in Lunar Magic and viewing it. now, if there are cutoff tiles in Lunar Magic that the player will never see when playing the actual game, would I lose points?

I believe that was just one of the inconsistencies from copying another post.

@Ultimaximus - No, I'm pretty sure we're going to be viewing it in Lunar Magic.

@Caracc - While it's not my call, if it's impossible to see it(including using walljumping or scrolling or whatever it takes to try to see it), then I don't think it'll hurt you. I'd make a mental note for if I see it in Lunar Magic a lot of times though. It won't kill you to fix the cut-off tiles. =-/
