I really want to say something about those 2 hacks.
Oh well, I'm in for the best kaizo hack. I already got 1/4 of the level done and it is not gonna use any really big glitches to beat the level, so it will be fair game to anybody who can use a whole lot of savestates.
-------------------- Your layout has been removed.
After a short vacation with some of my friends, I return. I also find out that many people are pleased with this new contest.
And yes, I have asked a moderator/administrator (Sonia), still waiting for a response.
EDIT: Sonia sed yes.
Just want to recap a few things:
If you are participating in both contests, please try to make it into a .zip file so when you unzip it, you are able do patch both hacks. If possible, merge bothe contest entries into one hack.
You are allowed to put custom bosses into your level. Just remember: as long as it doesn't violate any of the rules, I will probably allow it. And if you go to try to find loopholes, you are going to lose some points in the Understanding category.

7. Just remember that you are only allowed to submit one level only. If you want to edit or change any problems in your level and you already submitted it, please say, "please remove my old entry and replace it with this one instead," or something like that. If you do not include something like that, I will assume that you have submitted a whole different level and you will lose some points in the Understanding category.
Please try to submit your entry into the SMWCentral File Bin. Hence this post:

When you believe that you have the perfect level, make an .ips patch from your level and upload it to the File Bin and then post a link to them in this thread.
@Knave The Hedgehog, I'm sorry, but since you did not follow the directions and this was surely posted before I was gone, you will lose some points in the Understanding category (no big whoop. 1 or 2 points tops).
And if you cannot send it to the file bin for some strange reason, please say something like this in your post, "Well, it seems that (insert reason here), so I cannot post my entry in the file bin."
I may include one more judge, if sometimes there could be a very close tie between two hacks.
When looking at your level in Lunar Magic, sometimes you have tiles that appear glitchy in the game, but look fine when playing, or just used glitchy tiles, but the player cannot reach or see them, I will not take points off for that.
Just remember that if you do not like floating munchers, use the [MISC] Substitute Munchers with Mines ExGFX. I won't take points off for mines, but I will for stacked and floating munchers. Hence this quote:

Appeal (10): Does the level look nice? Are there any graphical glitches? Any stacked/floating munchers?
Remember to get your creative mind in, since I will take some points off of unoriginallity. *coughcoughItemAbusecoughcough* I don't think I need to quote, since you get the idea.
more reminders posted every few days.

Sure, time for Q and A...

1-Are glitches (Doubling ?-Block items, Using keys to enter aerial horizontal pipes, etc.) allowed to be nessesary in completing levels?
Glitches are allowed, but since Kaizo did not have the need to exploit glitches to carry on to next levels, that increases difficulty which decreases your points in the Difficulty category.

2-For the hardest level side of the contest, is it as hard as possible without being impossible what we're going for? Like, so hard it requires tool-assistance to beat?
Originally posted by PenangBenny's wall o'text
For this contest, you have to make the hardest level you can possibly make that is actually possible to beat, but still doesn't have stacked and floating munchers. For example, Item Abuse, Pit of Despair, Pit of Death, etc.
Self-explanatory.

...And 3-Are multiple entries allowed? Because I have TONS of devilish levels strewn about. A couple o' tweaks here and there, heheheh...
Already answered.

P.S. One more question... Can I use the "Invincible Chucks" patch in my entry?
Originally posted by PenangBenny's wal o'text
You can also include Patches: These are patches that you could use. You may use more, but make sure that they do not corrupt your ROM!
Can you explain this? Kaizo is suppose to be made to piss off the player, and Kaizo difficulty is impossible to have fun with.
(Finally, 4 screens of Kaizo! This is harder than I thought!)
@MessageBlockWell, I found Kaizo to be quite fun. It was a fun challenge to me seeming not to be boring like a walk in the park, nor it being aggravating, losing your temper and just giving up, which basically i just "impossible", and nowhere near fun, which is why I removed that category in the second contest. Well, it may seem fun to Dainegai and me, but maybe not to other SMWCentral users. Yet the judging only implies on the judges, who seem to be the best two TAS'ers and players out of the SMWCentral community (for now).
Also, I will try to get this stickied, so don't worry about the need to bump the thread as a last resort.
A helpful thing would be to name your level, so I don't have to name each entry "Kaizo Mario Level," so Kristian, can you name your level please?

I was planning on using my current Kaizo hack, Pit of 500 Trials for this contest. I hope to get at least 50 parts done by the deadline (which is?).
Let me answer your question using another quotation.

Yes, for the last time, please read the first post before posting stupid questions. Any more stupid questions or obvious ones will have deducted points from the Understanding category.
Also, for this - - userbar, could someone replace competitor with judge? (for Dainegai and me)

Look at this 8 year-old layout that I should probably update.
