I have to admit I have a sweet-spot for Galaxy. I said I'd NEVER love a Wii-mote game but Galaxy felt flawless for its controller.

Yeah, i really enjoyed playing galaxy, which is odd because i said the same thing about the wii mote. But it just works so good with galaxy, its a really good game over all. How good is Super Paper Mario?

I don't really like it much. It's kind of a let-down that they just turned the series on it ear and made it into a platformer. It just doesn't do the series justice.

Many people say that Super Paper Mario is bad and the gameplay sucks, but I have to disagree. Most of these people say it's bad because it's different from the usual RPG-fighting style of the first two Paper Marios. While Super Paper Mario has heavy usage of RPG elements (levels, items, sidequests, enemy cards, etc.), it's more of a platformer than anything. A two and a half D platformer. In my personal opinion, it's one of the best games I've ever played, due to it's great gameplay, story, characters, fun, and neatly-done features. I also like that Nintendo went with a different style for this Paper Mario game, as I was getting quite tired of the old style of the past two. I never really like the fighting style of the first two.

As for the best Mario game in my opinion, I would have to say Super Mario Galaxy. They just added so much features with the Wii Remote and the design of the game is so beautiful that it, in my opinion, blows away any other Mario game. The graphics are great, the music is awesome, the design for each Galaxy is really well-done, the story is rather good, going away from just the "Mario must rescue Peach or else Bowser will do .. something that isn't actually explained", going into a plan of Bowser to rule the entire universe byh building an empire with Peach by his side. Everything is just .. an epic win. Seriously.
Yoshi's Island and Super Mario Advance 4: Super Mario Bros 3.Free counters!

Wario Land (yes this is a super mario title under the super mario land 3 name), Super Mario bros 3, SMW, 64, and Galaxy. I dont think the RPG games count, as those arent really super mario titles.

Edit: Sorry if it seems like im following you Jeorge535 :P

well i like all versions of SMB3. I first played the Super Mario All-Stars Version then the NES version. I then got Super Mario Advance 4.
Probably either Yoshi's Island or Paper Mario 2. Both are just simply amazing games and I can't decide either.

Yoshi's Island is my favorite, and always has been. PM:TTYD takes a close second (though the soundtrack in this game is superior to YI's IMO).

SMW takes a third.
5. Yoshi's Island
4. Super Mario Bros 3
3. Super Paper Mario
2. Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door
1. Super Mario 64
Yoshi's Island and Super Mario World are tied at the number one spot on my list.
Yoshi's Island, Super Mario 64, and Mario Galaxy
Your layout has been removed...NOT! :D
Super Mario 64, Super Mario Allstars, Mario Bros. , Super Mario Galaxy and Super Mario World (GBA).
SM64, SMB3, Mario Sunshine and UR MR GAY for me.
I agree that Galaxy was pretty awesome, but I think I like SMB1 the best. Both nostalgia and ease of play are my reasons.

This is a thing that's happening, now. Achievements in old video games.
Thank you for the layout, Erik557.
Man, I wish this would've worked. Oh well.
If not for respect, but dramatic effect, take on the face of Guy Fawkes.
SMW and paper mario 2 are tied for 1st and paper mario and mario 64 are 2nd
^_*

3. Super Mario Kart (why hasn't anyone put that down?)
2. Japan's Super Mario Bros 2 (aka Lost Levels in the US)
1. Super Mario World (surprised? I'm not)

No one's going to agree with this, but I believe that the 3-D Super Mario games aren't true Super Mario games. Since when did Mario punch enemies in the face? (Super Mario 64, that's when). Mario uses a talking water sprayer to clean goop off a tropical island? (Apparently plumbers take break from plumbing by doing janitorial work on tropical islands). A plumber flying through space? Really?

Sure, the original Super Mario Bros games didn't make much emphasis on Mario's job either, but at least he still went through those underground sewer levels in SMB 1 & 2 (no, not the Doki Doki Panic clone). At least he wasn't jumping off walls, using a hose instead of a plunger and careening through space!

No, I'm not saying the 3-D Mario games sucked (the gameplay was still very fun, and since when do plumbers race in go-karts throwing turtle shells at each other? [oh, Super Mario Kart...]) I'm just saying Mario wasn't made for these type of plots, after the backround information about him given to us didn't fit well in his first "Super" game.
