This is the New thread for Video Tutorials and a few other important tutorials For people who need it. Feel free you post your own tutorials or even request some, and if some one is nice enough, they'll make one for you (and the rest of the community)

2:Request a video or other tutorial if you wish, but don't get mad if its not made by someone right away.

I would like to request a tutorial about how to use smkdan's SNES Sample utility. I understand what the document says, but when I try to obtain real YI music(I inserted the YI song with AddMusic), it sounds wrong. That's why I request it.

I want to make a block that only allows you to enter if you have a certain amount of coins.

It's quite simple actually.
  • Download and extract Sprite Tool
  • Put your rom in the Sprite Tool folder or directory.
  • Run sprite_tool.exe
  • Type in the exact file name of your rom, not the path. For example, you might type rom_hack.smc . Spaces are allowed. Hit enter.
  • Type in the name of the sprite list text file (default is sprites.txt) Spaces are allowed. Hit enter.
  • Open the sprite list and find the sprite you are lookiing for. Note the hex number.
  • In Lunar Magic, activate sprite editing mode, hit insert on your keyboard, type in the sprite number the hex number.
  • Find the asm file for your sprite. Note what happens if you set the extra bit (for example, setting the extra bit may make something shoot right)
  • Set the extra bit in Lunar Magic to 2 if you don't want it to be set, 3 if you do. It should appear either glitched, or as another sprite. That's okay. Just save and test.

    To insert a downloaded sprite:
  • Download and extract. Put the files in the folder it's readme or description says (example: generators)
  • Open the sprites list. Choose a hex number for your sprite
    00-BF Standard Sprites (sprites included in the 'sprites' subdirectory)
    C0-CF Shooters (sprites included in the 'shooters' subdirectory)
    D0-DF Generators (sprites included in the 'generators' subdirectory)
  • Type it in. (For example: D3 example.cfg) It has to be to the cfg file.
  • Save and follow the above steps.

    If your sprite does not use the original graphics, follow an ExGFX tutorial.

    The 'ExAnimation Tutorial by PatrickBno1' link leads to a 'How to insert custom sprites' tutorial when I clicked it? Anyhow good list, but I do think you should add a few documents to it as well, as a lot of people just overlook the documents section and go strait for the skickies or creating a new thread.

    I request a mannual exgfx insertion tutorial for the blowhard sprite.and yes I read the read me but I cant find the offsets.that it tells me so thats why I am requesting this.

    There's an SPC at the top of the custom music section which has all of the instruments.
