Final Destination

It is with great honour that Foursword4 and I announce the first true viewing of this hack, Final Destination. This team hack started on January 16, 2009, and has been going on until now, although it has been mostly kept under wraps (except for the occasional clue that has been dropped). In order to kick off the stand, we would like to present you with this rather .. strange letter we found in our travels.

City's Log: Date Unknown. Why would anyone know the date anymore anyway? We are all trapped, and doomed to this forsaken lair. How could anyone be so evil, and so twisted? I mean .. what have we ever done to them? We used to be so peaceful, and now we are nothing. All mindless beasts who would do nothing but feast on the flesh. The deformities of the land, the city, it is too much for me to handle.

Apparently the legendary hero Mario is also trapped here. I have no idea how he got here, or if he even knows what is in store for him. A traveller dropped off photographs showing him slowly making his way through our lands. To the one who finds this letter: please examine these photographs. You do not know the horrors that are yet to come.


It appears that those purple pulsating orbs are very important to him.


The sky is a twisted place. It even has living thunderclouds.


That poor town has been completely ruined. What a shame.


Running along the rooftops. How nice.


It appears one of the town's spirits still "lives" in his home.


Oh .. an infected cavern.


This cavern is home to a strange, ruined temple it appears.


Is that dirty water, or liquid death?


This appears to be an entrance banner. Is that what they call it?


I also have these strange, round things with holes in them. I am sure the finder of this letter would like to listen to this audio as well. It appears that they are all custom-made by a man named "S.N.N."

It does appear that I also have this strange tape labelled "DVD" .. although why do I have this feeling many people have seen this one before? Oh well.

To the one who finds my letter: You may be our only hope. When the time is ready, please make your way to what could possibly be the Final Destination of your existance. You are not only saving yourself, but the rest of us as well. Let us rest in peace.

It was truly an honor to work on this with SNN. Our latest brainchild has allowed us to work with new and fresh ideas in a unique and chilling manner. We are still changing things around, as we keep on thinking of new tricks to implement.

This started out as a short project, yet it has turned into something huge for us. We hope you all enjoy what we have shown, and look forward to what we have in store for the future. Believe me...it will be quite a treat.

This looks awesome, I love the feel of this hack already, dark and gloomy with some shocking secrets. Just the way I like it.

Unfortunately, this is not the type of hack where a demo can be provided, as it has a very distinct flow to it that really can't be broken.

Ah, there is so much we cannot share .. so much the letter did not cover .. sigh. Time will tell.

Jokes aside, this looks very good, SNN, and it is great to finally see it announced!
The form of story telling is very interesting, might I add.
However, what I'm wondering is if you might change anything about Mario, at least his GFX. It's kind of out of place to see him in such a setting...

I must say, that this looks really good! This is one of the best statusbars ever, it doesn't have a lot of pointless stuff, but instead a clean stylish statusbar. The graphics have a nice style and they are combined with awesome palettes, and altogether they make a very clear and pleasant-to-look-at style. I wonder, where did you found the letter? Also, how long will the adventure be? How much of it is done discovered?

In my opinion, Mario's old GFX strangely fits in with this hack.

Anyway, I hope to see more of this. This kinda reminds me of Jigsaws test for some reason.

Yes, the flow is very intricate for this hack. As much as we would have loved to show you what we have so far, it would pretty much ruin any future releases of it.



In a very dark hole, at the bottom of a very dark well (hint: who knows).



The adventure is very long, and will span across many "blocks", as shown in the status bar. Each area acts as a stage of sorts, although some key things have been removed to drastically change gameplay.

Wow...incredible work shown here. This hack sticks to one general ambiance and achieves it so well. The graphical choices, palettes, and music are all incredible and will surely make this a unique hack. The storyline seems to be quite intriguing and mysterious, and I'm eager to find out what's all behind it :o. It's great to see other hackers making really unique hacks as I am doing as well^_^. I'm a bit envious I couldn't be part of such a great-looking team hack .

Wow. I'm really impressed by the work both of you two have shown. But yeah, as other people have said, it was quite disappointing that there isn't a demo. Anyways, I think this is a pretty interesting hack. Most of the Mario games usually have kind of an upbeat, cheerful feeling to it, while this hack looks more dark and mysterious. I'd love to see how the final version of this hack turns out. Great work, guys!

Once again, S.N.N. shows off his demented side...this time collaborating with the guy who made a hack based off the Saw movies. Dementedness aside, though, this looks like a pretty darn cool hack. (I already forgot what most of the screenshots looked like, but I remmber the ruined city and stuff...very interesting. I like it.)
