Super Mario: Ucronia Relased +Dinomar the HeroPet

SMW: The meteor is another my SMW hack starring Mario and a Baby "Dinomar".
It has custom graphics for cutscenes, but levels are completely SMW original graphics, assembled with ExGFX

So, this is a half "Vanilla" hack. it has some levelASM, some Custom sprite and blocks and other stuff done by you all SMWC users: Thank you :3

Plot: A meteor is fallen on Dinosaur land. So, Mario and Yoshi will get to the impact place. As told here, Mario will get to this crater and will discover a sort of vehicle: a ball. So, from the vehicle comes a girl, a cool girl comparable to a top model. But this guy is bad. She will introduce herself: she's named Grisba, a guy that will became a horrible ogre for fault of Baby Dinomar (you will see more later...)
So, she tries to melt away Mario, but for a mistake, she teleports Mario to a little desert island. So, Mario Can see a boat, so, he will reach it and will meet Maria, another cool girl having a little strange Dinosaur called dinomar, like his little medal says.
So, Mario, (after beaten some levels, at least, until the great mountain) will discover that Grisba is a very dangerous space conquer with no compassion to kill a "cute" creature. So, she found an oracle that told her that an only one is able to destroy her! Just as drawn, this one is Dinomar. Grisba, even not caring thinking it is just a nonsense, she will go to destroy Dinomar anyway, for a "little" fun.
But Grisba doesn't know what risk will meet.
Mario, knowing it, is ready to defend Dinomar from the dangerous Grisba, even dealing dangers, grasslands, volcanos, mines, etc...
But escaping from Grisba doesn't work for anything: they need a solution!
They won't be alone: there will be another "Player" helping them:

I like what you're doing here. The palettes for the SMW graphics make them seem new and fresh and the boat area looks cool. Nice work on the Maria graphics and the "little" Dinomar. Keep up the good work!

I love the creepy feel of the cave, and the palette looks marvelous, good job!
heeeey is that my minecart sprite i released for C3? That's good usage of it, I love the GFX

I love the character graphics for the mine cart guy. They are really awesome.


Really cool use of SMW BG graphics and (I'm guessing) the "shoot from slanted pipe" entrance.


As I said in irc, I like how these graphics look so smooth and shiny. Very cool. Also, I guess "Lakitu" is an original character?

Dinomar, I always loved your level design skills and this hack looks like it's no exception. The baby Dinomar looks so cute and friendly, nobody better hurt it! My only complaint is that your plot is a little too complex for my tastes, but if you have cutscenes throughout the game progressively explaining the story, you're good to go. Also, the SS from your main project look very snazzy. Keep the good times rolling Dinomar!
@Doomdragon: Yeah, even knowing that is just an edit of smkd's sprite XD! Yeah, i find an use of all :D

Also, yeah, that's the exit from a slanted pipe!
Those "woman" lakitu characters are is a follower of Grisba from Grisby planet: She shoots red mucus soaked of spit (Yeah, Grisby's inhabitant are gross: Grisba aka Grisbaman is the only one that doesn't make this kind of grossness, he likes decapitate cute guys...) that you must not touch XD

-The block in the center of the rotating platforms is pretty bright. I'd tone down the palette a bit.
-While the FG and BG in the first few screens don't clash, the FG in particular looks very out of place, mostly because of the 3D effect it gives and the lack of outlines (whereas everything else has them).

Actually, that is all I really have to complain about. Some of the concepts in this are looking pretty neat, such as the star-throwing guy in the third screen (assuming that is what he is?) Pretty interesting looking sprites as well.

1- Bright blocks? Well, i agree, i'll change them with something that fits with the place!
2- I got inspiration from SMB2 for the hut place. Maybe the problem is just that the FG is missed of outlines: well, i'll add them soon.
3- Grisba's followers are not so neat XD (well, nevermind)
4- No, the chuck sprite doesn't throw stars: those are coins!

Finally i got to draw new graphics: Dinomar character taking mushrooms, flowers, smashing koopas: well, that clashes :D
That was just for beta testing: i prefer Grisbian arthropods for that

I must admit that I am liking pretty much EVERYTHING you posted in this thread - your graphics are probably the best custom graphics I have ever seen, and your level design seems to be top-notch. The concepts that have been popping up here and there lately are also pretty clever - I'm really liking the layout of that minecart level you got there. I certainly can't wait to see that worm-like creature in action - the concept you got there for it sounds pretty interesting.

I have got a complaint, though:


This screenshot is actually pretty cool, though I think the level shown by it would turn out better if you added some more stuff to the background, especially towards the top (such as some clouds, some sort of sky gradient, etc.). Otherwise, I'm really likin' the look of that level, especially with that amazing pseudo-3D effect you added onto the river. Really nice work!
Yeah, if i will find enough space, i could remove the trees and add other in the background!

to be honest,those black outlines don't fit with the GFX in the second SS:remove those and they look great.also,that mine level is awesome!can't wait to play that level.
This looks awesome! My only complaint would probably be the outline in the second screenshot. It's kinda out of place.
