Yoshi's island what?

While palying smw2+2 (a hack of YI) I found this neat little background when disabling layer 1 during the big boo boss fight. I wonder why nintendo never used this as an actual background like during a bonus room or something. It would be cool if this was able to be sampled (when it comes to eggvine I suck major poopy, so yeah)
Looks like that's the graphic used for the scene when the big boo boss blows up. Correct me if I'm wrong. :/
Pretty sure that you're correct Buu-Huu. Looks like nothing more than a placeholder graphic to me.

But aren't the graphics for the explosion all sparkly and circular?

No, they're referring to the explosion seen right at the moment when the Big Boo is defeated, not that sparkly animation seen after every boss. I've noticed this as well, and it does seem it's just a place to temporarily store the explosion graphic until it's ready to be triggered.

I really don't recommend using it as a BG, as that doesn't seem to be its purpose, plus I can't think of anywhere it would fit or look good in.
It's the explosion from when you defeat Bigger Boo because when you disable layer 1 after the explosion, it will be gone.Free counters!
L00ks like a big exploz0n! If they did use this, that'd own!
