Switch Blocks in Yoshi's House?

I'm trying to make switch palace blocks work in Yoshi's House. Right now, they neither function properly nor have the correct graphics. Any help is appreciated.

Thanx

In Lunar Magic, click Level -> Change index of Graphics in header.

You will get a small box on the screen. Make sure the first white bar says (Switch Palace 1) and the other one says (Switch Palace)

Hope this helps :)

. . . That doesn't solve my problem at all. In fact, all it does is screw up the graphics of the fireplace and birds.

Oops! Sorry about that.

Try this instead.

Also, level 8 uses the Switch Palace graphics I think. If you put in the infomation the picture shows then you should be able to put Yoshi's House there.
O.O /facepalm

Let me try again: I am trying to put Switch Palace blocks into Yoshi's House (Level 104). I am not trying to add a Yoshi's House object to some other level.

The problem seems to be incompatibility between the Switch palace blocks and the FG/BG GFX setting (Switch Palace 1). If I change it to Switch Palace 2 (or to any other setting), then the Switch Palace blocks will work but Yoshi's House will look messed up.

There is no such incompatibility. I just loaded up a fresh, clean ROM, and I am able to place any of the 4 switch palace switches (extended objects 0x8A-0x8D) in the level with no graphical problems whatsoever.

Quite true. The normal Yoshi's House GFX can support large swithes. However, it is not recommended to use that level (104) if you are going to use the original ending. If you aren't, however, hack away at that level.

I'm talking about the blocks, not the switches. The ones that start out as outlines and become solid once the switch has been pressed.

You can't use those in Switch Palace tilesets. The Map16 entries for them won't allow it. And Direct Map16 entries don't do the changing that you're probably interested in.

Since this is a problem with the Map16 pages themselves, you might be able to directly edit these tileset-specific pages.
Tileset 08 has the elements of Yoshi's House. I tried to copy it and insert it as an ExGFX tileset, then use the Super GFX Bypass, but there is no improvement.

Near as I can tell, the issue is that the "T" value for the GFX settings makes it impossible to have both switch blocks and Yoshi's House at once. (I say this based on the fact that Switch Palace 1 and Switch Palace 2 settings use the same tilesets but have different "T" values, and switch palace blocks do not work in the former while Yoshi's House is garbled in the latter. If this is not actually the reason, I'd appreciate an explanation.)

I don't think there is any way to have the switch blocks and Yoshi's House in the same level. You could create your own house using logs or something else like I did. If you need an example, here's a video I made for my current house. Go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ohYhhjRVAbc
