I want to use the metroid HP patch in my hack, but I need help inserting it (really). It's an ASM file, not an IPS file, and in the readme it doesn't say how or what to insert it as.

It's an Xkas patch. Specify freespace in it and insert it with Xkas.
At times like this, you need to step back and say, "Where's the Balloon Party?"
