Patches/Graphics Question

I was just wondering if it's possible to extract the graphics from a patch and how to do it.

Xkas patches that change some graphics usually come with a .bin file. Simply copy the graphics from there.

If you mean IPS patches, like the Goomba player patch, why not apply it to a clean ROM, extract all the GFX, and only copy those you need?
