OK, something strange just happened to me. I say strange, but from what I've heard about Eggvine this sort of thing is probably not unusual.
Eggvine crashed whilst I was working on my hack, and when I reloaded it, the level I was working on had changed. First of all, the amount of bytes allocated to that level had doubled. Secondly, there was loads of new stuff in the level which I hadn't added, mostly new screen exits (there were about a hundred of them).
I've deleted all the new stuff and played it through and the level works fine. However, I'm worried that something might go wrong further on in my hack now that this bug happened. My question is this: do you think I should continue with this file, or shall I just load up the copy I made last night in case there is a possibility that the file I was working with has been corrupted in some way I do not yet know about?
^ Yeah I try to do this as well. I did it last night, so my copy is not too far behind. I can easily update the changes, the only thing is, I am quite pleased to have the additional bytes available, so I'm not too sure what to do.
Copying a ROM that might be corrupted won't get rid of the glitch. If you think it's fixed itself, I guess you can continue, but otherwise I recommend using a clean ROM. Although, if it was indeed a object or sprite error, there's nothing wrong with that.
