Wario was taking a vaction when his ship crashed on this

I do have to agree that many of our levels still feel like edits of the originals. Do you guys have any recommendations on what should be done to change that? I've kind of been noticing it, but I'm not sure how to fix that.

My idea is to probably do a redo of most of the levels. They have uneven difficulties too. We may want to flatten it out a bit like this.

Hmm...

My issue is this; most of the levels we have are too easy. I tend to make challenging, difficult hacks. It's my nature, and what I enjoy. I enjoy hacks that make you curse with frustration (to a certain point). I'm also, very bluntly, against having to change my levels (again in some cases). If they're too difficult, then with all honesty, I'm also working on my own hack and would be more than happy to use them there. The problem with this hack is that we have a wide spectrum of level designers, but no one else really, really knows anything else.

We have an overworld, though I haven't seen it, but the beta one I saw was... eh. Most of the level design has been much of the same as well. We have far too many grass land levels, and not enough of anything else. We have a bunch of custom sprites, but as far as I know we don't know how to fix some of their flaws. I don't even know how to insert them. The skill level and styles this hack currently contains is too varied or wide.

So here are my thoughts. Compared to any other levels in this hack, my levels are all considerably more difficult, and would currently all require (extreme) re-designing. Therefor, I'll keep those levels for my own hack, and if I do design any more levels for this hack, I'll make them easy. But at the moment my life doesn't really have time for hacking, so I'll function as a beta-tester and supporter only. I'm sorry to bow out of this project, but I really don't have the time commitment anymore, and have no desire to have to re-design my levels, or have them 'redesigned'.

Note: You may use some concepts I've inserted, but do not directly copy anything, please. Once again, I'm sorry it's come to this, and eagerly await a demo, whenever it's put out. Hope you guys aren't too mad, but it isn't really working...

It is the truth, we do have alot to many grass, It is time to weed all them levels out, look thru them, delete some, then for the people who wanted to see them, include them in a IPS I put in the File Bin! Good idea, or not??

I kinda agree with Lu-kaz...

Most of the levels are really easy, I mean, literal 'walk up and down slope' boringness. The points in which making it too hard/easy makes it boring. We need medium, normal levels. Not just easy levels. Another point; try to make the levels mixed. Not just grassy levels.
Throughout the hack, I have seen a bit of cutoff whilst betatesting. And some of the levels are hard mixed in with all that easy. A main point in the team hack is difficulty. Famerdave, you need to test those levels yourself and say if it is too hard. But wait, even before that you must of said to your members 'Make normal levels!'.
Controlling a team hack is hard work; I know you are friends with most/all of the members in the hack, but still, it doesn't mean for them to make easy/bad quality/slacked levels. (Sorry if this means any offence to any of the team members).
Still, Famerdave, are you thinking of freezing this hack? I would say freeze it for now, as you should get experience of making a normal hack, not a team hack right of the bat.

tl;dr: I suggest freezing the hack until you have made a single, normal hack.

I will think about it, I kinda like Vanilla style but school is killin me!!!!!! I used to help more with making levels right, I just am thinking about letting everyone on the team go, except some of us main folks! I just dont know!!!

Drumroll!!!!!!


Okay, I know we have not showed much progress but that will change soon, If it alright with everyone we need to begin placing levels in the correct world so if the level is to easy we need to edit it to make it longer, more secondary exits and harder. Right now we maybe have 3 levels with exit enabled tubes in them.

So lets bring this frozen hack and turn the heater up to bring it to life!!!!!
